Article Abstract

The multiple wavelength diode laser (MWDL) is a sophisticated device designed to target deeper skin layers by emitting various wavelengths. Its unique feature is the ability to deliver heat to specific depths within the tissue using different wavelengths while simultaneously cooling the skin surface. Recent research by Choi et al. suggests that wavelengths of 755 and 810 nm can induce carbonization in hair follicles, while the 1064 nm wavelength penetrates deeper into tissues. MWDL has been proposed for fat redistribution in aging, but concerns have been raised regarding ocular safety and potential tissue damage, particularly when used near the eyes. Studies have shown ocular injuries during cosmetic laser procedures, emphasizing the need for robust ocular protection and safety protocols. Additionally, there are reports of internal ischemic necrosis and burns, highlighting the importance of precise energy settings and parameter management. While MWDL shows promise, further research and comprehensive guidelines are needed to ensure safe and effective usage in clinical practice.

In-line multi-wavelength non-destructive pharma quality monitoring with ultrabroadband carbon nanotubes photo-thermoelectric imaging scanners.

While non-destructive in-line monitoring at manufacturing sites is essential for safe distribution cycles of pharmaceuticals, efforts are still insufficient to develop analytical systems for detailed dynamic visualisation of foreign substances and material composition in target pills. Although spectroscopies, expected towards pharma testing, have faced technical challenges in in-line setups for bulky equipment housing, this work demonstrates compact dynamic photo-monitoring systems by selectively extracting informative irradiation-wavelengths from comprehensive optical references of target pills. This work develops a non-destructive in-line dynamic inspection system for pharma agent pills with carbon nanotube (CNT) photo-thermoelectric imagers and the associated ultrabroadband sub-terahertz (THz)-infrared (IR) multi-wavelength monitoring.

Pure-Green Circularly Polarized Multiple Resonance Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Enantiomers with Discontinuous Fused Benzene Rings.

Helicene-based circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) materials suffer from severely low color purity in circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes (CP-OLEDs). Here, a novel molecular engineering strategy is introduced by replacing helicene containing continuous fused benzene rings with a multiple resonance (MR) framework comprising discontinuous fused benzene rings. This approach effectively suppresses high-frequency C─C bond stretching vibrations and enhances short-range charge transfer, enabling high color purity, CPL activity, and efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF).

Aims: Cardiac tumors are aggressive and asymptomatic in early stages, causing late diagnosis and locoregional metastasis. Currently, the standard of care uses gadolinium-based contrast agents for MRI, and the associated hypersensitivity reactions are a significant concern, such as gadolinium deposition disease. In addition, the proximity of cardiac lesions closer to vital structures complicates surgical interventions.

Introduction: Current commercial cerebral oximeters only monitor the frontal lobes, however, some cerebrovascular territories may experience ischemia while others remain well perfused. This pilot study used a novel, high-density, dual-wavelength, time-resolved functional cerebral oximeter (Kernel Flow) with 2000 channels to assess the regional differences of cerebral oxygenation (StO2) in response to hypotension across different vascular territories during shoulder surgery in the beach chair position.

Methods: Twenty-seven adult patients were monitored, recording blood pressure, heart rate, regional cerebral oxygen saturation, and other vital parameters.

Epigenetic modulation enables precise gene regulation without altering DNA sequences. While histone acetylation has been widely utilized for gene activation, the therapeutic potential of histone methylation remains underexplored. In this study, we developed a new epigenetic activator by fusing the histone methyltransferase SETD7 to deactivated Cas9 (dCas9).
