Mosses are proven bioindicators of living environments. It is known that mosses accumulate pollutants from precipitates and, to some lesser extent, from the substrate. In this study, the effects of cesium (Cs) on the physiological traits of acrocarp polytrichaceous Catherine's moss ( Hedw.) were studied under controlled, in vitro conditions. Cesium can be found in the environment in a stable form (Cs) and as a radioactive isotope (Cs and Cs). Belonging to the same group of elements, Cs and potassium (K) share various similarities, due to which Cs can interfere with this essential element and thus possibly alter the plant's metabolism. Results have shown that Cs affects the measured physiological characteristics of , although the changes to antioxidative enzyme activities were not drastic following Cs treatments. Therefore, the activities of antioxidative enzymes at lower pH values are more the consequence of pH effects on enzymatic conformation than simply the harmful effects of Cs. Moreover, Cs did not affect the survival of plants grown on the solid substrate nor plants grown in conditions of light and heavy rain simulation using Cs with variable pH, indicating that Cs is not harmful in this form for the studied species .

Geopolymers are aluminosilicate materials that exhibit effective immobilization properties for low-level radioactive nuclear waste, and more specifically for the immobilization of radioactive cesium. The identification of the cesium-binding sites and their distribution between the different phases making up the geopolymeric matrix can be obtained using solid-state NMR measurements of the quadrupolar spin Cs, which is a surrogate for the radioactive cesium species present in nuclear waste streams. For quadrupolar nuclei, acquiring two-dimensional multiple-quantum experiments allows the acquisition of more dispersed spectra when multiple sites overlap.

However, this strategy has not been sufficiently characterized, for example, the application of cesium halide nanocrystals to quasi-2D perovskite structures is underexplored, and the mechanisms of the resulting structural modifications and specific nanocrystal roles are not fully understood. Herein, the effects of postsynthetically surface-modifying quasi-2D perovskite films with CsX ( = Cl, Br, I) nanocrystals are examined to bridge this gap.

The uncharted effects of cadmium and cesium on circadian syndrome (CircS), an emerging circadian rhythm disorder drawing considerable attention, and underlying mechanisms warrant exigent elaboration. Data of 11141 subjects from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2005-2018 were incorporated to investigate separate-, joint-/interaction-, and mixture-effects of urinary cadmium and cesium on prevalent CircS risk exploiting survey weight regression and quantile g-computation. The underlying mechanisms were probed by network toxicological analysis.

This paper presents the results of our study on the relationship between the surface chemical states, which are influenced by ligands, and photoluminescence (PL) characteristics in cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs). NCs were synthesized the Ligand-Assisted Reprecipitation (LARP) and Ultrasonic-Assisted (URSOA) methods, which were able to produce NCs with and without ligands. Although both synthesis methods used similar precursor composition and processing steps, the resulting crystal structures of NCs are different.
