Isfahan Kidney Diseases Research Center, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran.
Purpose: Men with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) often experience erectile dysfunction (ED). While transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) can improve ED, new-onset ED remains a concern. This study compares monopolar (M-TURP) and bipolar (B-TURP) techniques, with a subgroup analysis based on phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor (PDE5i) use.

Background: Studies examining the association of chronic kidney disease (CKD) with cancer risk have demonstrated conflicting results.
Methods: This was an individual participant data meta-analysis including 54 international cohorts contributing to the CKD Prognosis Consortium. Included cohorts had data on albuminuria [urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR)], estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), overall and site-specific cancer incidence, and established risk factors for cancer.

BC Children's and Women's Hospital, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Background: Many children and adolescents who undergo solid organ transplants (SOT) develop post-traumatic stress (PTS) symptoms. Despite its prevalence and strong association with long-term impairments in quality of life, PTS is often overlooked as a major co-morbidity in many transplant programs. To address this unmet need, the purpose of this study was to explore the factors that impede or facilitate awareness of PTS, access to resources, and readiness to engage with mental health services.

Objective: Upper-extremity arteriovenous (AV) access often requires re-intervention. However, the frequency of re-interventions and subsequent access failure is not well-characterized. Our goal was to evaluate the frequency and type of re-interventions, risk-factors, and outcomes after AV access creation.

Purpose: Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently experience psychological distress, including learned helplessness(LH), which impairs self-management and adversely affects health-related quality of life. This study aimed to investigate the latent profiles of LH among MHD patients and to identify the bio-psycho-social determinants influencing these profiles.
Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in five hospitals in Guangdong, China, from May to July 2024, enrolling 548 MHD patients.
