Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a multiorgan disease caused by mutations in the gene, leading to chronic pulmonary infections and hyperinflammation. Among pathogens colonizing the CF lung, is predominant, infecting over 50% of adults with CF, and becoming antibiotic-resistant over time. Current therapies for CF, while providing tremendous benefits, fail to eliminate persistent bacterial infections, chronic inflammation, and irreversible lung damage, necessitating novel therapeutic strategies.

Purpose: Bronchiolar adenoma (BA) is a rare benign pulmonary neoplasm originating from the bronchial mucosal epithelium and mimics lung adenocarcinoma (LAC) both radiographically and microscopically. This study aimed to develop a nomogram for distinguishing BA from LAC by integrating clinical characteristics and artificial intelligence (AI)-derived histogram parameters across two medical centers.

Methods: This retrospective study included 215 patients with diagnoses confirmed by postoperative pathology from two medical centers.

We previously demonstrated the CFTR correctors VX-445 (elexacaftor) and S-VX-121 (vanzacaftor) potentiate heterologously-expressed BK channels, as well as in primary human bronchial epithelial cells (HBEs). This potentiation of BK resulted in altered vasoreactivity and neuronal excitability. We postulated novel compounds could be identified that would potentiate BK while not affecting CFTR.

Introduction: Ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)/corticotropin-releasing hormone production by tumours causes 5-10% of Cushing's syndrome cases. We present a 21-patient case series with ectopic Cushing's syndrome (ECS) from a tertiary care institute in India.

Methods: Data were collected retrospectively for patients from 1984 to 2004 and prospectively thereafter till 2019.

Division Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

Purpose Of Review: There is a significant overlap between the diagnostic evaluation for adult and pediatric patients with bronchiectasis; however, also important age-specific unique considerations. This review focuses on these specific considerations.

Recent Findings: Bronchiectasis refers to the radiographic evidence of dilation of distal and proximal bronchi secondary to chronic infection and inflammation.
