Article Abstract

Designing wide-bandgap chalcogenides is one of the most important ways of obtaining high-performance infrared (IR) functional materials. In this work, two Mg-based metal thiophosphates, namely NaMgPS (NMPS) and RbMgPSCl (RMPSC), were successfully obtained by introducing [MgS] and [MgSCl] octahedra into thiophosphates. In addition, their crystal structures were determined, a first for Mg-containing [PS]-based thiophosphates to the best of our knowledge. Their bandgaps were investigated in theoretical ways and verified by taking experimental measurements, and determined to be 3.80 eV for NMPS and 3.93 eV for RMPSC, values greater than those of the other investigated thiophosphate halides. The wide bandgaps of NMPS and RMPSC were attributed, based on theoretical calculations, to the [MgSCl] ( = 0-6) octahedron.

Cyberattacks on transmitted signals are the most critical threats to modern microgrid (MG) systems and should be accurately addressed to ensure safe and reliable operation. This article investigates the cybersecurity of dc MGs against FDI attacks and develops a novel model-based observer system. The proposed projection operator (PO)-based UIO is uniquely designed to detect attacks on the transmitted data from other distributed generation units.

Electrochemical grooving of tube inner walls with emphasis on feed strategy and multi-pass effects on material removal and groove geometry.

Electrochemical (EC) grooving minimises tool wear and residual stress when machining hard-to-cut tube materials. This study examines how the number of passes and tool feed direction affect material removal rate (MRR) and removed area (RA) in Stellite 21 tubes. Two feed strategies were tested: Unidirectional Electrolyte Flow (UEF), where the tool moves entirely opposite to the electrolyte flow; and Hybrid Electrolyte Flow (HEF), where the tool first moves against and then with the flow direction.

In order to promote the development and application of low-carbon cement varieties and the recycling of industrial solid waste, this study used iron tailings and fluorogypsum to prepare iron-rich belite-sulfoaluminate cement (I-BCSA). The suitable conditions for the preparation of I-BCSA in this system were with an excessive addition of 6 wt% of SO in the raw meal, at a calcination temperature of 1250 °C for 1.5 h, and an added-gypsum content of 15 wt%.

ConspectusProtein-protein interactions (PPIs) play a key role in homeostasis and are often dysregulated in disease. PPIs were traditionally considered "undruggable" due to their flat surfaces and disordered domains. Recently, the identification of PPI stabilizers, or molecular glues (MGs), compounds that bind cooperatively to PPI interfaces, has provided a new direction for the field.
