This study is the first to report the characterization of genomic information. Assembly of the genome generated a draft of based on PacBio Sequel II and Illumina paired-end sequencing, which was assembled from 2941 contigs with an estimated genome size of 0.346 Gb. The estimate of repeats in the genome was 31.0%, and heterozygosity ranged from 0.426 to 0.441%. The integrity evaluation of the assembly revealed 1481 complete benchmarked universal single-copy orthologs (BUSCO) (91.76%), indicating the high quality of the draft assembly. A total of 23,402 protein-coding genes were successfully predicted and annotated in the protein database. UpsetR plots showed that 7481 orthogroups were shared by all species. The phylogenetic tree showed that is a close but distant relative of . had greater contraction (3154) than expansion (392). Among the extended gene families, aquaporins have been found to be enriched. Primers for microsatellite markers determined 30 polymorphic markers out of 100. The average number of alleles amplified by these 30 polymorphic markers was 4 to 12, with an average polymorphism information content (PIC) value of 0.660. In conclusion, our study provides a useful resource for comparative genomics, phylogeny, and future population studies of .

Epinephelus tukula is an economically important aquaculture animal, and a major parent in grouper crossbreeding. To better preserve and exploit E. tukula germplasm resources, a core collection (containing 34 individuals derived from 10 genetic groups) was first constructed based on phenotypic growth traits and whole-genome resequencing (WGS) data.

Background And Aim: The () gene plays a pivotal role in regulating growth, metabolism, and fat deposition in cattle. Genetic polymorphisms in this gene can influence phenotypic traits and may serve as molecular markers for selection in breeding programs. However, comprehensive characterization of gene variants in local Indonesian breeds, such as Madura cattle, remains limited.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiogenic stroke (CS) are harmful to human health. Previous studies have shown a correlation between T2DM and CS, but the causal relationships and pathogenic mechanisms between T2DM and CS remain unclear. We downloaded T2DM and CS datasets from a genome-wide Association Study and performed Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis using the TwoSampleMR package in R software.

Unlabelled: The study aimed to evaluate fecal calprotectin levels as indicators of intestinal inflammation in children with cystic fibrosis while examining their relationship with clinical signs, genetic mutations, and therapeutic approaches. Due to the limited number of patients with certain mutation types and the heterogeneity of mutations, patients were grouped accordingly for the analysis of fecal calprotectin levels, in relation to genetic mutation categories. This single-centre study at Istanbul Medical Faculty included 45 cystic fibrosis patients (19 girls, 26 boys) aged 1-18 years and 45 age- and sex-matched healthy controls.
