Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata represents a significant economic pest, typically controlled through the use of chemical insecticides. The introduction of RNA interference (RNAi) technology has opened new avenues for biopesticide development, leading to the identification of various genes that are crucial for the growth and development of insects. However, the efficient screening of target genes in H.

Potato virus Y (PVY) is one of the most economically detrimental phytoviruses affecting global Solanaceae, possessing challenges in agrochemical control. The structural elucidation of PVY coat protein (CP) offers opportunities for the rational design of CP-targeted antivirals; however, the feasibility of identifying lead compounds via virtual screening remains largely unexplored. Herein, we report the successful case of structure-based virtual screening leveraging PVY CP, enabling the identification of a structurally novel lead with a unique mechanism of action.

This study aimed to identify QTL governing three traits of the resistance against the two planthoppers such as damage score (DS), nymphal survival (NS) and days to wilt (DW) using the 94 RIL population derived from the cross TN1/RP2068 utilizing 125 SSR and 1500 SNP markers. In case of the whitebacked planthopper (WBPH) five major and three minor QTL while for the brown planthopper (BPH) four major and seven minor QTL were identified to be associated with these three traits. Two major QTL, each on chromosomes 1 and 2, were responsible for DS and NS against WBPH accounted for 25% and 16% of the phenotypic variance (PVE).

A comprehensive understanding of the molecular mechanism underlying the Liquid-Liquid Phase Separation (LLPS) pathway of LCD-TDP43 remains a challenge in the context of its neuropathogenesis. The primary driving force behind the TDP-43 LLPS is the interplay of hydrophobic interactions reinforced by aromatic residues. This study presents a novel, convenient, sensitive, and probe-free approach using excitation-emission matrix (EEM) fluorescence to monitor the microenvironment of aromatic residues and π-π stacking interactions during different stages of the LLPS pathway.
