Chronic wounds have become the leading cause of death, particularly among diabetic patients. Chronic wounds affect ~6.5 million patients each year, according to statistics, and wound care and management incur significant financial costs. The rising prevalence of chronic wounds, combined with the limitations of current treatments, necessitates the development of new and innovative approaches to accelerate wound healing. Copper has been extensively studied for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities. Copper in its nanoparticle form could have better biological properties and many applications in health care.

Introduction: Alzheimer's disease is expressed as chronic neuroinflammation in the brain, which results in neuronal dysfunction, aberrant protein folding, and declining cognitive abilities. miR-146a-5p is a potent anti-inflammatory agent that can be used to treat several inflammatory diseases, as well as promote wound healing. An 84-year-old man with a history of amputation and follicular lymphoma developed a non-healing ulcer on his stump, initially diagnosed as a pressure ulcer cause by the clinic and lack of B-symptoms. Despite wound care, the lesion worsened. A biopsy revealed de novo diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), non-germinal center subtype.

Microfracture has been the most extensive clinical approach in AC repair, but it faces challenges such as matrix degradation, generation, and remodeling within a local inflammatory microenvironment. So far, it remains a challenge to establish a multistage regulatory framework for coordinating these cellular events, particularly the immune response and chondrocyte proliferation in microfracture-mediated AC repair microenvironments, which is crucial for promoting AC regeneration quality.

The treatment of chronic hard-to-heal wounds has become a major medical and public health problem worldwide. The search for novel and efficient wound healing dressings is crucial because of the complex mechanisms of wound genesis and of the inability to spontaneously repair. Many inherent properties of organisms in nature and their intrinsic molecular mechanisms have inspired researchers to design biomimetic hydrogel wound dressings to treat chronic hard-to-heal wounds.
