Pollination is essential for maintaining biodiversity and ensuring food security, and in Europe it is primarily mediated by four insect orders (Coleoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera). However, traditional monitoring methods are costly and time consuming. Although recent automation efforts have focused on butterflies and bees, flies, a diverse and ecologically important group of pollinators, have received comparatively little attention, likely due to the challenges posed by their subtle morphological differences.

In this pre-registered experiment conducted in the Netherlands and Türkiye (N = 550), we investigated how the source of advice (peer vs. expert) influences people's decision-making when assessing the carbon footprint of a flight between two cities. We also examined whether this effect was influenced by their conspiracy mentality, collective narcissism, epistemic individualism, and climate change scepticism.

We examine considerations that enter into design and evaluation of measures in social science, categorizing them into four drivers: epistemic, ethical, pragmatic, and metrological. We call them drivers to highlight their role in guiding researchers' decisions without determining them. Through an analysis of the World Inequality Report 2022, we reveal tensions among these drivers, illustrating the complex interplay between the various demands a measure must satisfy.

This review traces the evolution of psychiatry in Egypt and the broader Arab region from 1994 to 2024, offering a comprehensive analysis of reforms in mental health policy, clinical infrastructure, education, legislation and workforce development. This paper examines key challenges, including service fragmentation, sociocultural stigma, refugee mental health and underinvestment. It highlights current contradictions in the field, such as increased demand, limited access and the dominance of imported psychiatric models with insufficient cultural adaptation.
