Background: Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is a chronic autoimmune disease delineated by excessive lymphocyte infiltration to the lacrimal or salivary glands, leading to dry eye and dry mouth. Exosomes secreted from mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are known to have anti-inflammatory and tissue regeneration abilities. This study endeavored to demonstrate the effect of MSC-derived exosomes on the clinical parameter of dry eyes and associated pathology in SS mouse model.

This paper presents the generation and evaluation of a novel potential drug delivery platform for biologics, based on recombinant spider silk. Targeting CD40 for activation of antigen presenting cells, in order to overcome tumor induced T cell tolerance, have shown promising results in cell and animal models. However, further trials have gained limited results due to severe side reactions.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic had significant global public health consequences, affecting over 200 countries and regions by 2020. The development and efficacy of specific vaccines, such as the mRNA-1273 (Spikevax) vaccine developed by Moderna Inc., have substantially reduced the impact of the pandemic and mitigated its consequences.

Functioning upstream in immune activation cascades, MIF influences macrophage polarization, T and B cell differentiation, and cytokine expression through CD74, CXCR2/4/7, and downstream signaling via NF-κB, ERK1/2, and PI3K/AKT pathways. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of MIF's mechanistic functions under both physiological and pathological conditions, highlighting its dual role as a protective mediator during acute stress and as a pro-inflammatory amplifier in chronic disease.
