To explore the spatial pattern of zonal tree species in the subtropical subalpine mountain area on Lushan Mountain, a 25 hm forest plot was established in Yangtianping area of Lushan Mountain following the technical specification of CTFS in 2021. We classified these species into evergreen conifer species, deciduous broad-leaved species and evergreen broad-leaved species based on their leaf shape and deciduous or not to analyze the spatial pattern of dominant species of different types by spatial point pattern method. The results showed that , subsp. , , , , , , , and were dominant species. Among these species, was the constructive one. The spatial pattern of dominant species was clustered at a certain scale, and gradually became to randomly distribution with the increases of scales. Evergreen conifer species was independent with deci-duous broad-leaved species and evergreen broad-leaved species at small scales, but was negatively correlated with them at large scales. Deciduous broad-leaved species and evergreen broad-leaved species were obviously negatively correlated with each other. Deciduous broad-leaved species were positively correlated or independent with each other at small scales, but were negatively correlated with each other at large scales. Evergreen broad-leaved species were positively correlated at small scales, independent at medium scales, and negatively correlated with each other at large scales.

Urban green areas are vital yet underexplored reservoirs of microbial diversity in cities. This study examines myxomycete communities in Zijin Mountain National Forest Park, a subtropical urban forest in Nanjing, China, across four seasons and multiple forest types. Combining field collections and moist chamber cultures, we documented 60 species from 906 occurrence records.

To investigate the photosynthetic responses of needles with different ages (current-year and annual-year) in to sunflecks along the vertical gradient of canopy, we conducted an experiment at the Changbai Mountain Forest Ecosystem Positioning Station utilizing a canopy tower crane platform. We selected current-year and annual-year needles from the upper (mean height: 23.26 m), middle (16.

Acorns are crucial for the regeneration and stability of oak forest communities, yet they often suffer significant predation by weevils before dispersal. Understanding the interaction between acorn functional traits and weevil infestation is essential for elucidating plant-insect coevolution. This study examined the relationship between acorn functional traits and weevil infestation rates in six dominant Fagaceae species (, , , , and ) in semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forests in Yunnan, China.

Numerous studies have shown that biodiversity influences the functioning of ecosystems over space and time. The sensitivity of such biodiversity-ecosystem effects to environmental heterogeneity, however, remains poorly understood. In forests, seedling recruitment is a critical phase of forest dynamics, and this phase is highly sensitive to environmental heterogeneity and biotic interactions with surrounding plants.

The relationships between forest productivity and stand structure has been extensively studied, but it is still unclear whether environmental factors affect the relationship and how their relationships vary under the influence of stand type and environmental factors. A fixed monitoring dataset from 972 plots of natural mixed forests (including coniferous, broad-leaved, and coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests) in Zhejiang Province was used.
