Novel therapeutic approaches on molecular pathways are being developed to treat inflammatory and autoimmune cutaneous dermatoses. Apremilast is an orally administered small-molecule phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor that upregulates intracellular cyclic 3',5'-adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels to mediate a large array of proinflammatory cytokines as well as exerts its anti-inflammatory functions and therapeutic efficacy in skin diseases rather than an immunosuppressive mode of action. Early-phase clinical trials have demonstrated its favorable efficacy such that the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has approved its use for the treatment of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and Behçet's syndrome.

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of durvalumab and tremelimumab (Dur/Tre) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who had a tumor thrombus in the main portal vein trunk (Vp4) or high tumor burden (HTB).

Methods: A total of 309 patients with BCLC stage B or C HCC who received Dur/Tre between March 2023 and October 2024 were included. HTB was defined as the presence of at least one of the following radiological findings: ≥ 50% liver involvement by HCC, bile duct invasion, or the presence of Vp4.

Introduction Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots have rapidly gained popularity for disseminating health information, especially with the growth of digital medicine in recent times. Recent studies have shown that Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT; OpenAI, San Francisco, CA), a widely used AI chatbot, has at times surpassed emergency department physicians in diagnostic accuracy and has passed basic life support (BLS) exams, underscoring its potential for emergency use. Parents are a key demographic for online health information, frequently turning to these chatbots for urgent guidance during child-related emergencies, such as choking incidents.

Recombinant human hyaluronidase-facilitated subcutaneous immunoglobulin (hf-SCIg) for inflammatory myositis: a multicenter retrospective real-world observational study.

Eur J Intern Med

August 2025

Department of Medical, Surgical and Health Sciences, University of Trieste, Trieste, Italy; Centre for Inflammatory Diseases, Monash University Department of Medicine, Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia. Electronic address:

Background: Subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIg) is a promising alternative to intravenous Ig (IVIg) for the treatment of idiopathic inflammatory myositis (IIM), thanks to its more favorable safety profile, reduced costs, and lower impact on patients' quality of life. We assessed the short- and long-term effectiveness and safety of recombinant human hyaluronidase-facilitated SCIg (hf-SCIg) in patients with IIM treated at different referral centers in Italy.

Methods: A multicenter, retrospective, real-life cohort study was conducted on consecutive adult patients diagnosed with IIM according to the EULAR/ACR criteria, treated with hf-SCIg for remission induction or maintenance.
