Objectives: The Sorbin and SH3 domain containing 1 (SORBS1), a protein linked to insulin signaling CBL interaction, was investigated for its role in pancreatic cancer apoptosis. This study explored polyphyllin H (PPH)'s ability to restore SORBS1-knockdown-mediated repair functions.
Methods: PANC-1 cells were divided into Blank, overexpression (OE), and knockdown groups.

Avian reovirus (ARV) has emerged as a highly prevalent pathogen in Chinese poultry, characterized by its high mutation rate, environmental resilience, and dual vertical-horizontal transmission routes, leading to rising chick morbidity and substantial economic losses. To evaluate vertical transmission, 945 dead embryos and 58 weak chicks from a Guangdong hatchery between January 2023 and December 2024 were tested, yielding a 9.6 % (96/1003) ARV positivity rate.

Hyaluronic acid (HA), a linear glycosaminoglycan, serves as a key structural constituent of extracellular matrices, participating in diverse biological processes across both normal physiological and pathological contexts. While the gut microbiota exerts a pivotal influence on HA utilization within the human body, current scientific literature indicates a limited understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying this interaction. In this study, a gut bacterium Enterococcus faecalis F1221 has been isolated, which demonstrated the ability to degrade HA.

Background: Hymenoptera venom allergy is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality, also in pediatric patients, highlighting the importance of effective management through venom immunotherapy (VIT). This study aimed to evaluate the safety profile of VIT, identify factors associated with adverse reactions (ARs), assess the accuracy of insect identification and its impact on VIT extract selection, and determine treatment efficacy by analyzing ARs following re-sting.
Methods: The medical charts of patients followed up at the Allergy Unit of Meyer Children's Hospital IRCCS, Florence, Italy, who completed a VIT cycle between 1997 and 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.

Department of Plastic Surgery, Hyogo Medical University, Nishinomiya, Japan.
Background: To address soft tissue volume deficiencies following surgery or injury, plastic surgeons implant de-epithelialized flaps subcutaneously. During this procedure, residual epidermal components and skin appendages may inadvertently be implanted, potentially leading to postoperative complications. However, such occurrences are rare in clinical practice.
