Perovskites exhibit excellent high-temperature oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activities as the anodes of solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs). However, the relationship between ion ordering and OER performances is rarely investigated. Herein, a series of PrBaCo Fe O perovskites with tailored ion orderings are constructed. Physicochemical characterizations and density functional theory calculations confirm that the oxygen bulk migration and surface transport capacities as well as the OER activities are promoted by the A-site cation ordering, but weakened by the oxygen vacancy ordering. Hence, SOEC with the A-site-ordered and oxygen-vacancy-disordered PrBaCo O anode exhibits the highest performance of 3.40 A cm at 800 °C and 2.0 V. This work sheds light on the critical role of ion orderings in the high-temperature OER performance and paves a new way for screening novel anode materials of SOECs.

This research explores the dynamical properties and solutions of actin filaments, which serve as electrical conduits for ion transport along their lengths. Utilizing the Lie symmetry approach, we identify symmetry reductions that simplify the governing equation by lowering its dimensionality. This process leads to the formulation of a second-order differential equation, which, upon applying a Galilean transformation, is further converted into a system of first-order differential equations.

A considerable number of individuals are diagnosed with idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia. In order to achieve a more complete understanding of the pathophysiology, it is essential to adopt a range of novel approaches and utilize new animal models. This study investigated changes in the messenger RNA (mRNA) expression of ion-channels in a newly developed animal model of trigeminal neuropathic pain induced by cervical spinal dorsal horn compression.

Despite periods of permanent darkness and extensive ice coverage in polar environments, photosynthetic ice diatoms display a remarkable capability of living inside the ice matrix. How these organisms navigate such hostile conditions with limited light and extreme cold remains unknown. Using a custom subzero temperature microscope during an Arctic expedition, we present the finding of motility at record-low temperatures in a Eukaryotic cell.

In this study, we investigated the influence of ultrasonic frequency during ultrasound-assisted chemical bath deposition (UCBD) on the surface morphology and electrochemical performance of CoO:MnO@CoMnO composite flexible electrodes for supercapacitor applications. By systematically varying the ultrasonic frequency (1.0-2.

The calibration of the JET x-ray spectrometer is presented. The absolute throughput, diffractor focusing, and instrument function of the spectrometer are presented, and the quality of the ion temperature measurement is re-assessed, particularly at the lower end. The addition of a second diffractor enables the simultaneous measurements of the spectra from H- and He-like nickel, which widens the spatial coverage of the core-ion temperature measurements for high-performance plasmas at a fixed Bragg angle range.
