Since January 2025, the European Journal of Ophthalmology has entered a phase of change aimed at strengthening its role as a platform for European researchers. We have restructured the editorial board into specialized sections, introduced new content areas focused on AI, public health, and evidence-based medicine, and we are replacing case reports with a new section dedicated to clinical images. We have also launched official social media accounts to share content more widely and are working on ways to better recognize the contributions of our reviewers.

Introduction: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of repeated corneal cross-linking (CXL) in patients with progressive keratoconus who have undergone an unsuccessful primary epithelium-off (epi-off) CXL procedure. Additionally, it compares the keratometric changes between initial and repeated CXL treatments.
Methods: In this multicenter retrospective cohort study, eyes that underwent repeated accelerated epi-off CXL (9 mW/cm for 10 min) were compared to eyes that received only a single successful procedure.

The cornea, the transparent anterior window of the eye, critically refracts light and protects intraocular structures. Corneal pathologies, including trauma, infection, chemical injury, metabolic diseases, genetic conditions, and age-related degeneration, can lead to significant visual impairment. While penetrating keratoplasty or full-thickness corneal transplantation remains a standard and effective intervention for severe corneal dysfunction, limitations in donor tissue availability and the risk of immunogenic graft rejection necessitate alternative therapeutic strategies.

Introduction: This study aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of intracameral dexamethasone 9% single-dose sustained-release suspension with the established pharmaceutical regimen after cataract surgery.
Methods: This prospective self-controlled study included consecutive patients with bilateral visually significant cataracts. Patients received bilateral cataract extraction in the Eye Institute of West Florida by the same experienced surgeon (RJW).
