At Lalonde we know that the determinants that most influence the health of the population are lifestyle, genetics and the environment. Health represents only 10% and is the determinant that consumes the most resources. It has been shown that a salutogenic approach focused on the social determinants of health and the support of public policies to improve the environment are more efficient in the long term than medicine focused on hospitals, technology and super-specialization. Primary Care (PC) that has an approach centered on the person and families with a community vision, is the ideal level to provide health care, and to influence lifestyles. However it is not invested in PC. In this article we review the socioeconomic and political factors that globally influence the lack of interest in the development of PC.

Purpose: To determine the total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) of male English Premier League (EPL) players during one-game week (1GW) and two-game week (2GW) microcycles, thereby informing carbohydrate (CHO) guidelines aligned to the increasing physical demands of the game.
Methods: Nine male players from an EPL club were assessed over a 15-day in-season period, including a 1GW followed by a 2GW. Measurements included TDEE (doubly labelled water, DLW), energy intake (remote food photography method, RFPM) and external physical loading.

To determine the appropriate intensity and duration of exercise training for enhancing their field survival rate, we examined the changes in swimming capacity and rheotaxis between the trained group (exercised at 60% critical swimming speed for 6 hours daily) and the control group (reared in static water) under different training intensities and durations. Results would help explore optimal pre-release exercise protocols for hatchery-reared fish.
