This paper reports the kinetic resolution of racemic secondary alcohols (-nucleophiles) via stereoselective intramolecular allylic substitution. The reaction was enabled by synergistic palladium and chiral phosphoric acid catalysis and produced chiral -1,3-disubstituted 1,3-dihydroisobenzofurans with a selective factor of up to 60.9 and a diastereomeric ratio of up to 7.8:1. Asymmetric synthesis of a compound with antihistaminic activity was demonstrated as the application of this methodology.

Unlabelled: Adenoviruses are double-stranded DNA viruses widely used as platforms for vaccines, oncolytics, and gene delivery. However, tools for studying adenoviral gene expression in real time during infection remain limited. Here, we describe a set of fluorescent and bioluminescent reporter viruses built using the modular AdenoBuilder reverse genetics system and informed by high-resolution maps of Ad5 transcription.

Aziridines, structurally related to epoxides, are among the most challenging and fascinating heterocycles in organic chemistry due to their increasing applications in asymmetric synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and materials science. These three-membered nitrogen-containing rings serve as key intermediates in the synthesis of chiral amines, complex molecules, and pharmaceutically relevant compounds. This review provides an overview of recent progress in catalytic asymmetric aziridination, focusing on novel methodologies, an analysis of the scope and limitations of each approach, and mechanistic insights.

Four novel coumarin-containing arenes bearing a [5]/[6]helicene unit (, , , and ) have been readily synthesized and structurally verified by X-ray crystallographic analysis. The chiral resolution of molecules , , and has enabled a detailed investigation of their chiroptical properties and the kinetics of enantiomerization, manifesting that the [6]helicenes and exhibit a more enhanced chiroptical response compared to [5]helicene .

The performance of NiO-based electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is strongly influenced by the interface between the metal support (current collector) and the catalyst layer, which modulates electronic properties and electrochemical activity. This study systematically investigates the solid-solid interface behavior of NiO thin films prepared by reactive magnetron sputtering on Pt, Au, and Ni, followed by electrochemical characterization. Stepwise NiO deposition and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy reveal distinct band alignment and electronic structure differences at the metal-catalyst interface.

Argemone mexicana is one of the known herbaceous plants hosting bioactive isoquinoline alkaloids. In the current study, an endophytic fungal isolate was studied for anti-inflammatory potential and the identification of its bioactive molecule. An endophytic fungus AMEF-14 was obtained from this plant and identified as Cladosporium ramotenellum based on microscopy and molecular tools.
