Purpose: The number of oxygen vacancies in quartz measured by electron spin resonance (ESR) as the intensity of the E' center has been used to investigate the provenance of the sediments and has been found to be a good proxy in discussing the direction and intensity of the wind system in the past. While its temporal variations have been examined using marine sediments. The present study aimed to show that terrestrial sediments are also useful for such studies on climate change when it is continuous.

Introduction: Current commercial cerebral oximeters only monitor the frontal lobes, however, some cerebrovascular territories may experience ischemia while others remain well perfused. This pilot study used a novel, high-density, dual-wavelength, time-resolved functional cerebral oximeter (Kernel Flow) with 2000 channels to assess the regional differences of cerebral oxygenation (StO2) in response to hypotension across different vascular territories during shoulder surgery in the beach chair position.
Methods: Twenty-seven adult patients were monitored, recording blood pressure, heart rate, regional cerebral oxygen saturation, and other vital parameters.

Most individuals with moderate-to-severe diffuse axonal injury (DAI) have impaired verbal fluency (VF) capacity. Still, the relationship between brain and VF recovery post-DAI has remained mostly unknown. The aim was to assess brain changes in 13 cortical thickness regions of interest (ROIs), fractional anisotropy (FA), and free water (FW) in three language-related tracts; the VF performance at 6 and 12 months after the DAI; and whether brain changes from 3 to 6 months predict VF performance from 6- to 12-month post-DAI.

Introduction: The complement receptor 1 (CR1) gene is identified as the one closely associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, there has been no exploration of the imaging alterations associated with the CR1 gene in AD patients of the Han population. The purpose of this study is to investigate the association between the rs6656401 mutation and neuroimaging variations in Han AD patients.

Purpose: To analyze macular microvascular networks and investigate correlations between visual acuity and quantitative parameters in patients with Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).
Methods: An observational, cross-sectional study was conducted, including 25 eyes from 25 genetically confirmed chronic LHON patients and 25 eyes from 25 age-matched healthy controls. Images were obtained using a spectral domain OCTA system.
