Urolithiasis is a common and recurrent condition with significant health burdens; however, the causal relationships between dietary factors, plasma metabolites, and the urolithiasis risk remain poorly understood. To address this, we aimed to identify the causal associations between food habits and the risk of urolithiasis, and quantify the mediating role of plasma metabolites, employing two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) and experimental approaches. This MR analysis was based on summary statistics for calculus of kidney and ureter from published genome-wide association studies (GWAS), including 10,556 cases and 400,681 controls of European ancestry.

Phosphorus and nitrogen co-doped carbon quantum dots (PNCQDs) were utilized as facile fluorescent probes for accurate monitoring of naftidrofuryl oxalate (NAFT) and rivaroxaban (RIVA). These luminescent templates have shown two emission ratiomeric bands at 335 and 444 nm upon excitation at 273 nm. Successive titration of the carbon dots with NAFT solution showed enhanced fluorescence at 335 nm band, leaving the other band unchanged, while by consecutive addition of RIVA increments to the PNCQDs-NAFT complex, a fluorescence quenching occurred only to the same band.

The anodic behavior of zinc electrodes is important for energy storage, corrosion protection, electrochemical processing, and other practical applications. This study investigates the anodic galvanostatic polarization of zinc foil and bulk electrodes in aqueous oxalic acid solutions, revealing significant differences in their electrochemical behavior, particularly in induction period durations. The induction period's duration depended on electrolyte concentration, current density, and temperature.

Background: Kidney stone are among the most common urologic diseases characterized with metabolic disorder. Biomarker for kidney stone detection and the metabolic variables in kidney stone development have attracted increasing attention.
Methods: To explore the metabolomic and lipidomic characteristics of plasma in patients with kidney stones, we collected plasma samples from 200 participants, including 100 kidney stone patients and 100 healthy controls.

Electrochemical synthesis has emerged as a sustainable platform in constructing C─N bonds for amino acid production. Glycine, a particularly valuable target compound, continues to experience escalating global demand, yet achieving simultaneous high efficiency and operational stability remains a persistent challenge. Herein, we demonstrate a CO-mediated strategy for glycine electrosynthesis using oxalic acid and N/nitrate as feedstocks.
