We have grown [Formula: see text]Th:CaF[Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]Th:CaF[Formula: see text] single crystals for investigations on the VUV laser-accessible first nuclear excited state of [Formula: see text]Th, with the aim of building a solid-state nuclear clock. To reach high doping concentrations despite the extreme scarcity (and radioactivity) of [Formula: see text]Th, we have scaled down the crystal volume by a factor 100 compared to established commercial or scientific growth processes. We use the vertical gradient freeze method on 3.2 mm diameter seed single crystals with a 2 mm drilled pocket, filled with a co-precipitated CaF[Formula: see text]:ThF[Formula: see text]:PbF[Formula: see text] powder in order to grow single crystals. Concentrations of [Formula: see text] cm[Formula: see text] have been realized with [Formula: see text]Th with good (> 10%) VUV transmission. However, the intrinsic radioactivity of [Formula: see text]Th drives radio-induced dissociation during growth and radiation damage after solidification. Both lead to a degradation of VUV transmission, currently limiting the [Formula: see text]Th concentration to [Formula: see text] cm[Formula: see text].

Objective: This economic evaluation compares two treatment strategies for patients with a diabetic foot ulcer (DFU): a lipido-colloid technology with nano-oligosaccharide factor (TLC-NOSF) dressing versus standard of care (SoC) over a one-year time horizon from the Vietnamese healthcare payer perspective.
Method: A Markov microsimulation model was developed to simulate weekly progression of DFUs over one year, comparing two treatment strategies. Using a willingness-to-pay threshold of VND 305.

Background: Therapeutic climbing (TC) is an emerging physical therapy with demonstrated benefits for musculoskeletal rehabilitation, but its impact on upper-limb muscle activity remains unclear. Existing research predominantly focuses on healthy individuals, leaving muscle recruitment strategies in patients with upper-limb injuries largely unexplored. This study aims to investigate upper-limb muscle activity in patients with unilateral upper-limb injuries and healthy individuals across six TC exercises.

To determine the optimum value of head scatter correction factor ([Formula: see text]) used in Radcalc software. The head scatter factors for a selection of multi-leaf collimator fields were measured on a Varian TrueBeam Edge and TrueBeam linear accelerators using an ionisation chamber in a mini-phantom. Radcalc calculated the head scatter values for the same fields.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) currently lacks effective therapeutics, but blood-brain-barrier-penetrating flavonoids show promising therapeutic potential. To address this critical need, we employed a novel network medicine framework to systematically identify flavonoid compounds for AD therapy by quantifying their network proximity to AD targets. Our systematic screening identified 48 potential anti-AD flavonoids, of which luteolin, quercetin, apigenin (API), and baicalein demonstrated significant neuroprotective effects in A[Formula: see text]25-35-induced rat pheochromocytoma (PC12) cell models.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Alcoholic liver disease (ALD), a chronic liver injury induced by prolonged alcohol consumption, involves intricate multi-organ interactions, such as gut-liver axis disruption, as well as the synergistic effects of multiple factors including oxidative stress, intestinal dysbiosis, and metabolic disturbances. These complex pathological mechanisms render single-target therapies largely ineffective in achieving desirable therapeutic outcomes. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), characterized by its multi-target mechanisms and low toxicity, has demonstrated unique advantages in the treatment of ALD in the past decades.
