Skull-base metastasis is extremely rare. Various syndromes have been identified based on the anatomical involvement of the metastatic tumor. Occipital condyle syndrome (OCS) occurs with involvement of occipital bone and compression of the hypoglossal canal. OCS is very rare and usually has an underlying widely disseminated metastatic cancer. We present a 66-year-old female who initially presented with tongue deviation and occipital headache. MRI revealed a mass compressing the occipital bone and hypoglossal canal. Further work-up revealed metastatic breast cancer.

Purpose Of Review: The purpose of this review is to provide an update on the mechanisms of cervicogenic headache and the role of the C2 dorsal root ganglion (DRG) as a central hub for cervicogenic headache.
Recent Findings: The suboccipital muscles have been implicated in the pathogenesis of cervicogenic headaches due to their connections with the dura mater. The myodural bridge (MDB) connects the suboccipital musculature to the spinal dura mater as it passed through the posterior atlanto-occipital and the atlanto-axial interspaces.

Mammals often follow peculiar evolutionary trajectories on islands, with some Pleistocene insular large mammals exhibiting reduced relative brain size. However, the antiquity of this phenomenon remains unclear. Here, we report the first digital endocast of an insular artiodactyl, the five-horned ruminant from the Late Miocene Gargano palaeo-island (Apulia, Italy).

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory joint disease characterized by a specific pattern of bone and joint destruction. Instability of C1-C2 can be seen in up to 65% of RA patients. Occipito-cervical fixation (OCF) protects spine from trauma damage and neurological deficit progression though it causes limitation of cervical movement.

Purpose: Rheumatoid arthritis can significantly impact the craniocervical junction, leading to basilar invagination due to joint destruction and instability. Traditionally, such conditions may require anterior or more invasive surgical interventions, which pose greater risks, especially in immunocompromised patients. This study introduces a less invasive, posterior-only method that can be executed even in resource-limited settings.
