Introduction: There is growing incidence of postpartum stroke globally. We aim to assess the incidence rate, predicting factors and outcome of postpartum stroke in a middle income country. In one year long bidirectional study, patients with acute postpartum stroke developed within six weeks after delivery were cases compared to matched control group without stroke in 1:2 ratio.

The pathogenesis of dengue remains complex and incompletely understood. One proposed mechanism involves the virus evading host immune responses through the upregulation and/or secretion of immune-inhibitory molecules. This study investigates the association between plasma levels of soluble human leukocyte antigen G (sHLA-G), a known immunoregulatory molecule, and dengue severity in hospitalized patients.

The escalating cancer burden in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), with projected doubling of incidence and mortality by 2040, necessitates innovative, cost-effective strategies for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. While known infectious triggers like HPV, hepatitis viruses, and account for an estimated 28.7% of cancers in SSA, the full scope of microbially-mediated oncogenesis remains underexplored.

Propolis, consisting of plant-derived materials, wax, and bee secretions, is abundant in bioactive constituents like flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and terpenes, which enhance its various biological functions. These encompass antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticancer, antidiabetic, and immunomodulatory properties. Propolis has demonstrated effectiveness in the prevention and treatment of multiple illnesses, including cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, infections, diabetes, wound healing, and burns.
