Ageing is one of the most significant risk factors for heart disease; however, it is still not clear how the human heart changes with age. Taking advantage of a unique set of pre-mortem, cryopreserved, non-diseased human hearts, we performed omics analyses (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics), coupled with biologically informed computational modelling in younger (≤ 25 years old) and older hearts (≥ 50 years old) to describe the molecular landscape of human cardiac ageing. In older hearts, we observed a downregulation of proteins involved in calcium signalling and the contractile apparatus.

A 49-year-old man with pemphigus vegetans (PVeg) relapsed several times due to cessation of therapy. At the age of 66, vegetative plaques developed at the left oral commissure following mechanical plucking of approximately 500 beard hairs. Treatment with prednisolone (20 mg/day) was continued but yielded no clinical improvement.

Aim: This article aims to introduce and elaborate on the innovative concept of Functional Endodontic Volume (FEV), a biologically driven approach to root canal shaping. This concept emphasizes the importance of volumetric preparation aimed at enhancing irrigation dynamics during root canal treatment, all while maintaining the tooth's structural integrity.
Summary: In recent years, contemporary endodontics has progressively shifted towards methods that prioritize irrigation-based disinfection.

Background: Glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants are used for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) relapse suppression. Recently, biologics have demonstrated efficacy in relapse prevention. We aimed to evaluate the effects of satralizumab, an interleukin-6 receptor inhibitor, on relapse prevention, pain management, glucocorticoid tapering, and number of medications.

The demand for non-surgical upper body enhancement continues to grow, particularly among men seeking improved muscular definition without the risks of surgery or functional compromise. This case report presents a novel protocol using high G-prime hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers (Sedifill; Maypharm, Seoul, Republic of Korea) to contour the pectoralis major, deltoid, biceps, and brachioradialis in a 41-year-old male with moderate subcutaneous adiposity (BMI: 25 kg/m²; body fat: 21 %). A total of 134 mL of filler was injected subcutaneously using a layered technique with dynamic assessment and feathering to enhance muscle visibility while integrating with surrounding fat.
