Importance: Stoma reversal is associated with few complications. However, recent studies show that 1 in 3 patients develop an incisional hernia, for which half of the patients receive surgical correction.
Objective: To investigate whether prophylactic synthetic mesh placement in the retromuscular space during stoma reversal reduces the rate of stomal site incisional hernias.

Aim: Ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury-induced renal failure is a major cause of death and morbidity. Unfortunately, there is currently no proven protective therapy. The aim of the study is to investigate the protective effect of D-carvone against the renal ischemia-reperfusion (RIR) injury.

This study investigated the pathophysiological effects of vancomycin (VCM)-induced nephrotoxicity and the potential protective role of infliximab (INF). Twenty-eight male Wistar Albino rats (200 ± 20 g) were randomly divided into four groups (n = 7): Control, INF, VCM, and VCM + INF. The Control group received physiological saline; the INF group received a single intraperitoneal (i.

Background: Intraperitoneal vancomycin is commonly used to treat peritoneal dialysis (PD)-related peritonitis. Therapeutic drug level monitoring helps optimize the use of vancomycin in CKD patients. We studied whether sufficient serum levels were achieved in patients with PD-related peritonitis treated with the commonly used dose of vancomycin in patients with end stage renal disease.

Background: Vascular adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) is involved in promoting inflammation within blood vessels, activating endothelial cells, and is a key factor in the progression of diabetic vasculopathy in rats with diabetes, contributing to the underlying pathophysiological processes. This study focused on the expression level of VCAM-1 in diabetic rats subjected to a six-week schedule of aerobic training and valerian supplements.
Methods: Fifty male Wistar rats' hearts were removed under deep anesthesia and were studied using Lutgendorf's apparatus.
