Introduction: Invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) is a major health problem. Given the post-COVID-19 pandemic scenario with the loosening of the non-pharmacological measures to control the virus transmission and considering the observed global reduction of meningococcal vaccination coverage, an increase in IMD cases can be expected.
Methodology: Using whole-genome sequencing, we characterized six Neisseria meningitidis serogroup X (MenX) isolates recovered from IMD cases in Brazil in the last 30 years.
Results: The predominance (66.6%, 4/6) of ST2888 presenting fHbp 160, NHBA 129, NadA 21, and PorA 19,15 was found on isolates. Two novel STs, 15458 and 15477, were described.
Conclusion: This study describes the circulation of MenX lineage ST2888 in Brazil, previously reported only in Europe. Continuous universal surveillance is crucial to implement prompt public health measures aiming to prevent and control non-vaccine preventable serogroup X IMD cases.

Background: Invasive mold diseases (IMDs) are a severe complication of immunocompromised subjects and an emerging problem among severely ill, apparently immunocompetent patients. The aim of this study was to describe the epidemiological and clinical features of IMDs in Chile.
Methods: Prospective study of IMD cases in children and adults from 11 reference hospitals in Chile from May 2019 to May 2021.

To determine if neighbourhood socioeconomic deprivation is associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) severity and psychological treatment response. This was a retrospective cohort study based on the analysis of electronic health records for = 2064 patients treated for PTSD across 16 psychological therapy services in England. The (IES-R) scale was used to measure PTSD severity and associations were examined with the neighbourhood-level index of multiple deprivation (IMD) using non-parametric correlations and multilevel modelling.

Invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality in all age groups. Globally, reported cases predominantly belong to serogroups A, B, and C. Although serogroup W is less prevalent with regional distribution, it demonstrates shifting epidemiology linked to travel.

Background/objectives: Cases of Invasive Meningococcal Disease (IMD) dropped sharply due to non-pharmaceutical interventions during the Covid-19 pandemic, raising the possibility of a disease rebound due to an immunity gap. This has been investigated via a seroprevalence study of individuals less than 25 years old, by measuring meningococcal serogroup B (MenB) serum bactericidal antibody (SBA) titres in sera collected during 2019, 2020 and 2021. SBA titres in vaccine-eligible populations since the introduction of 4CMenB were also evaluated via comparison with data obtained before vaccine introduction.

Introduction: Regardless of its mechanism, hyperammonemia can cause coma and death, and requires urgent management. This study aims at describing the landscape of causes of hyperammonemia in adults and at evaluating the performance of targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) in this setting.
Methods: We analyzed two cohorts.
