Article Abstract
Splenic torsion is an unusual condition that results in congenital abnormality, especially in the visceral abnormal arrangement. We report the case of an 8.5-year-old boy with features in the right upper quadrant. Radiological investigations revealed heterotaxy syndrome with polysplenia and a hypodense tumor in the right upper quadrant adjacent to several spleens. We initially treated it as an intra-abdominal tumor. Laparoscopy was performed to check the tumor condition and revealed a congestive tumor located in the abdomen of the right upper quadrant below the central liver, which was suspected to be a torsion spleen without attaching ligaments. Laparoscopic splenectomy was successfully carried out without complications. The pathological report shows splenic tissue with hemorrhagic infarction. Physicians should be vigilant of the differential diagnosis of the acute abdomen in adolescents.

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a commonly used tumor marker, primarily for the surveillance of colorectal and other gastrointestinal malignancies. However, its diagnostic specificity is limited, as CEA levels may be elevated in several benign conditions. Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate, through cheiloscopic analysis, the impact of hyaluronic acid (HA) lip augmentation on lip impressions. Eleven patients underwent HA injections and had their lips analyzed for thickness, morphological classification, commissure position, and lip impression types at three time points: before treatment (T1), one month after (T2), and three months after (T3). Lip thickness was measured using a digital caliper, and commissure position was classified based on standardized digital photographs.

For one considered "the father of pediatric surgery," William Ladd (1880-1967) has few eponymous procedures and terms that bear his name. The Ladd procedure is a series of procedures to address malrotation of the intestine and midgut volvulus. Also bearing his name are Ladd's bands, obstructing adhesions that cross the duodenum as they bind the nonrotated cecum high in the right upper quadrant to the retroperitoneum.
