The rapid professionalisation of women's football has exposed significant gaps in biopsychosocial research that is essential to support player development, health, and career longevity. This current opinion examines historical deficiencies in research related to women's football, and presents the WOMEN framework (World-wide representation, Open science, Methodology excellence, Evidence-based practice, Nurturing talent) to address these gaps and provide future research directions. Emphasis is placed on the necessity of diversity in research populations, adoption of open science practices and methodological rigor to produce impactful, generalisable findings.

Salvia officinalis (sage) leaves were gathered from five districts in Van Province, Türkiye (İpekyolu, Erciş, Gevaş, Başkale, and Muradiye), and their antioxidant capacity, phenolic composition, heavy metal contamination, mineral content, and structural properties were investigated in this study. The widespread availability of Salvia officinalis in herbal shops and open markets across Türkiye, combined with its extensive use in traditional medicine, led to its selection. This study aimed to evaluate potential health risks associated with herbalist-sourced samples and to establish a model for assessing the safety of other unregulated medicinal plants sold in comparable environments.

Introduction: Acknowledging equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in research is not only a moral imperative but also an important step in avoiding bias and ensuring generalisability of results. This protocol describes the development of STAndards for ReporTing EDI (START-EDI) in research, which will provide a set of minimum standards to help researchers improve their consistency, completeness and transparency in EDI reporting. We anticipate that these guidelines will benefit authors, reviewers, editors, funding organisations, healthcare providers, patients and the public.

Purpose: The primary purpose of the study was to compare the baseline choroidal thickness (CT) between affected eyes and fellow eyes of treatment-naive retinal vein occlusion (RVO) patients by spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). The secondary purpose of the study was to find any association between presenting visual acuity and CT in the affected eyes of treatment-naive RVO patients.
Methods: This was a comparative, cross-sectional study.
