Article Abstract

Objective: It is still unclear how glucocorticoids (GCs) affect the long-term clinical course of patients with SLE. The objective of this study is to explore the factors associated with GC-free treatment status.

Methods: Using data from the lupus registry of nationwide institutions, GC dose at registration was compared between short, middle and long disease durations of <5, 5-20 and ≥20 years, respectively. After excluding patients who never used GC, we evaluated the relationship between GC-free status and chronic damage using Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics Damage Index.

Results: GC doses at enrolment of the 1019 patients were as follows: GC-free in 101 (10%); 0
Conclusion: Even in the patients with long disease duration, one-point GC-free treatment status might be related to no chronic damage accrual.

Background: Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) carries high mortality rates and often requires critical family decisions about code status when complications occur. The American Heart Association provides treatment guidelines but acknowledges a significant knowledge gap regarding do-not-resuscitate or do-not-intubate (DNR/DNI) decisions in patients with aSAH, challenging clinicians in identifying appropriate timing for these discussions.

Aim: To identify demographic and clinical physiological factors associated with code status transition in adults with aSAH admitted to the intensive care unit, supporting value-based decision making through more informed and timely discussions between health care providers and families that align with patients' core values and preferences.

Physical activity (PA) and screen media use are key behaviors for healthy development in early childhood. This study aimed to investigate 12-month trajectories of PA and screen time among toddlers and examine their associations with parenting practices. The Child and Mother PA Study (CAMPAS) recruited toddler-mother dyads in the US Chicago area from 2022-2024.

Unlabelled: Seeds can serve as a vehicle for the dissemination of pests and pathogens around the world. We recently demonstrated the association of pathogenic isolates with reduced sensitivity to azoxystrobin (quinone-outside inhibitor [QoI]) in naturally infested commercial broccoli seeds. In this study, we further demonstrate that these isolates were also resistant to two succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides.
