Given limited exposure to radiology during the pre-clinical and clinical years, it has been challenging to recruit medical students to radiology. Now, many medical students considering radiology as a career are deterred due to misinformation surrounding how AI implementation will affect radiologists in the future. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize the way in which medicine is practiced, especially in the field of radiology, and will ultimately support radiologists and advance the specialty. We aimed to provide a basic guide for medical students on the application of artificial intelligence in radiology, address misconceptions, highlight the role radiologists will play in AI development, and discuss the challenges faced in the future.

Healthy plant-based diets, such as vegan and vegetarian diets, as well as planetary health diets, meet the recommendations of sustainable dietary patterns and are healthier for both the planet and humans. Objectives: To explore the relationships between cardiac parameters and body composition indices, identifying predictors of subclinical cardiac systolic dysfunction.
Methods: Using anthropometric and serological parameters, echocardiography, and body composition analysis, this study evaluated metabolic profiles, cardiac remodeling patterns, and body composition characteristics in young adult obese patients, while quantifying the correlations between cardiac parameters and body composition indices. Subclinical left ventricular systolic dysfunction was defined as global longitudinal strain (GLS) < 18%.

Background: Carotid blowout syndrome (CBS) is a life-threatening emergency involving the rupture of the carotid arteries and/or branches, often following surgery and radiotherapy for head and neck cancer. Our case series aimed to describe airway management strategies, endovascular and surgical approaches, perioperative resuscitation management, and clinical outcomes in a cohort of patients with CBS at a tertiary referral academic health center.
Methods: We retrospectively identified patients presenting with CBS between 2017 and 2021.

Background: Training in endoscopy has traditionally been based upon an apprenticeship model, where novices develop their skills on real patients under the supervision of experienced endoscopists. In an effort to prioritise patient safety, simulation training has emerged as a means to allow novices to practice in a risk-free environment. This is the second update of the review, which was first published in 2012 and updated in 2018.
