John is a 12-year-old African-American boy with a Specific Learning Disorder in Reading and Generalized Anxiety Disorder who you are seeing in follow-up at your clinic. Last fall, when John was having an escalation of his anxiety symptoms at school, he enacted the behavior intervention plan (BIP) that had been previously established by his educational team of informing his teacher that he needed to leave the classroom. He then paced the hallway outside of his classroom as a method of coping with the anxiety that he was experiencing.

Feelings have long run high between many autistic advocates and behavior analysts. The former often experience and perceive ABA as harmful and traumatic in its methods, and prejudicial and stigmatizing in its objectives, with some of the latter retorting that criticisms reflect misunderstandings of the science rather than areas of true concern. Toward a performative epistemology of the archive: archival enactment as Rum futurity.

This article maps the alternative archives of the Rum community, those that do not fully align either with national mnemonics or the minority's dominant archival politics. I demonstrate how the Rum minority performs and enacts its archives-what I define as archival enactment-in order to claim grassroots agency in its mnemonic preservation. Despite their sociopolitical and cultural significance and their important potential for the study of archival science, the Rum minority's archival practices have been almost entirely ignored in the scholarship.
