Background: Patients with end-stage heart failure and chronic kidney disease requiring dual-organ transplantation (DOT) face significant challenges in utilizing durable mechanical circulatory support due to the risks associated with renal replacement therapies (RRTs) and multi-organ failure. Given the limited options available for long-term support in this patient population, there remains a critical need for alternative strategies to optimize end-organ function and bridge patients safely to transplant. With prolonged waitlist times for DOT, we present our experience with the Impella 5.

Objective: To compare the performance of trauma severity indices (ISS, NISS, REMS, mREMS) in predicting hospital and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admission outcomes.
Method: Retrospective cohort study carried out with patients treated at the Emergency Room of a private hospital from January 2020 to January 2022. Medical records of adults with blunt, penetrating, or mixed trauma admitted up to 24 hours after the trauma were analyzed.

Objective: To evaluate the correlation between frailty and AVF patency type in elderly patients in HD.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study evaluated 89 patients from April 2019 to June 2022. Skeletal muscle satellite cells ( SCs), essential for muscle regeneration, are a valuable model for studying exercise-induced stress relevant to human athletes. This study examined the effects of two natural compounds-chlorogenic acid (CGA) and isovanillic acid 3-O-sulfate (IVAS)-increasingly recognized as components of modern, nature-based recovery strategies. Their combination (Hybrid) was also tested on equine model of skeletal muscle satellite cells (ESCs) exposed to heat shock (40 °C, 1 h), mimicking exercise stress.
