Article Abstract

With the development of society and the economy, there is an increasing demand for surface treatment techniques that can efficiently utilize metal materials to obtain good performances in the fields of mechanical engineering and the aerospace industry. The laser metal deposition (LMD) technique for cladding has become a research focus in recent years because of its lower dilution rate, small heat-effect zone and good metallurgical bonding between the coating and substrate. This paper reviews the simulation technology for the melt pool's grain growth mechanism, temperature and stress distribution that are directly related to defect formation in LMD technology. At the same time, the defect suppression method and the performance improvement method of the cladded layer in LMD technology are introduced. Finally, it is pointed out that the active selection of materials according to the required performance, combined with the controllable processing technology, to form the corresponding microstructure, and finally, to actively realize the expected function, is the future development direction of LMD technology.

Neuropeptides play crucial roles in regulating context-dependent behaviors, but the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. We investigate the role of the neuropeptide SIFa and its receptor SIFaR in regulating two distinct mating duration behaviors in male Drosophila: Longer-Mating-Duration (LMD) and Shorter-Mating-Duration (SMD). We found that SIFaR expression in specific neurons is required for both LMD and SMD behaviors.

Neuropeptide SIFamide (SIFa) neurons in Drosophila melanogaster have been characterized by their exceptionally elaborate arborization patterns, which extend from the brain into the ventral nerve cord (VNC). SIFa neurons are equipped to receive signals that integrate both internal physiological cues and external environmental stimuli. These signals enable the neurons to regulate energy balance, sleep patterns, metabolic status, and circadian timing.

This study evaluated the effects of dietary probiotic-fermented corn wet distillers grains (FCWDGs) on finishing pigs. Three strains (CGMCC21218, CCTCC2022073, and CICC10275) were used to ferment corn wet distillers grains, yielding FCWDGs-1, FCWDGs-2, and FCWDGs-3. A total of 128 130-day-old Anqing six white pigs were randomly assigned to four groups: a control group and groups supplemented with 6% FCWDGs-1 (T1), FCWDGs-2 (T2), and FCWDGs-3 (T3).

Background: Although higher mortality has been reported among women undergoing coronary revascularization for left main coronary artery disease (LMD), it remains unclear whether contemporary approaches can address these disparities.

Objectives: We investigated sex differences in outcomes using the DEFINE-LM (deferral of coronary revascularization based on instantaneous wave-free ratio evaluation for left main coronary artery disease) registry, in which state-of-the-art management was employed.

Methods: We analyzed 314 patients from an international, multicenter registry, where all patients received state-of-the-art management, including physiology-guided revascularization decisions, intracoronary imaging-optimized drug-eluting stent deployment, or surgical procedures with internal thoracic artery grafts, alongside guideline-directed medical therapy.

Background: We will examine the cataract surgery wait time (WT) disparities across Ontario regions and institution types using a data-driven, population-level, and objective method based on billing codes.

Methods: We identified 1,138,532 adults who underwent cataract surgery between 2005-2019. WT from referral to initial surgeon visit (WT1) and from surgery decision to first eye surgery (WT2) were compared between rural (population <10,000) and urban settings, LHINs, and institution types (acute care, ambulatory, or other).
