Evaluating the delamination process in the synthesis of MXenes (2D transition metal carbides and nitrides) is critical for their development and applications. However, the preparation of large defect-free MXene flakes with high yields is challenging. Here, a power-focused delamination (PFD) strategy is demonstrated that can enhance both the delamination efficiency and yield of large Ti C T MXene nanosheets through repetitive precipitation and vortex shaking processes. Following this protocol, a colloidal concentration of 20.4 mg mL of the Ti C T MXene can be achieved after five PFD cycles, and the yield of the basal-plane-defect-free Ti C T nanosheets reaches 61.2%, which is 6.4-fold higher than that obtained using the sonication-exfoliation method. Both nanometer-thin devices and self-supporting films exhibit excellent electrical conductivities (≈25 000 and 8260 S cm for a 1.8 nm thick monolayer and 11 µm thick film, respectively). Hydrodynamic simulations reveal that the PFD method can efficiently concentrate the shear stress on the surface of the unexfoliated material, leading to the exfoliation of the nanosheets. The PFD-synthesized large MXene nanosheets exhibit superior electrical conductivities and electromagnetic shielding (shielding effectiveness per unit volume: 35 419 dB cm g ). Therefore, the PFD strategy provides an efficient route for the preparation of high-performance single-layer MXene nanosheets with large areas and high yields.

A novel aggregation-induced emission (AIE) system with superior performance was successfully developed through local chemical modification from thiophene to thiophene sulfone. This approach, leveraging easily accessible tetraphenylthiophene precursors, dramatically enhances the photophysical properties in a simple oxidation step. Notably, the representative 2,3,4,5-tetraphenylthiophene sulfone (3c) demonstrates remarkable solid-state emission characteristics with a fluorescence quantum yield of 72% and an AIE factor of 240, substantially outperforming its thiophene analog.

Achieving a crack-free, high-surface-area photoanode is essential for maximizing the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). In this work, rutile titanium dioxide (rTiO) nanoflowers were synthesized hydrothermally and then conformally coated with copper(I) oxide (CuO) by RF magnetron sputtering to seal pre-existing cracks and to create a nanothorn surface favorable for dye adsorption. Systematic control of the sputtering time identified 60 min as optimal condition, yielding a photoanode thickness of about 6.

In the stable cone-jet regime, liquid usually presents the shape of a cone extended by a jet at its apex, with jet breakup yielding fine drops. The dynamics of the Taylor cone critically affect the stability of the jet and further determine the jet and/or drop size. In the present work, the morphology of the Taylor cone, cone length, and cone angle were studied through experimental and numerical means, where the operating parameters and liquid properties are considered.

Perylene diimide (PDI) radical anions have attracted increasing attention as hypoxia-responsive photothermal agents due to their strong near-infrared (NIR) absorption and efficient photothermal conversion. However, their biomedical application is often limited by aggregation-induced quenching and poor structural tunability. In this work, we report a rationally engineered four-arm PDI derivative (PDI-4Alky·4Cl) bearing terminal alkyne groups, which not only suppresses π-π stacking steric and electrostatic repulsion, but also serves as a versatile molecular scaffold for further functionalization.

Objective: A cross-sectional study was made to evaluate the role of local factors, including surgical, implant, and prosthesis-related parameters, in the presence of peri-implantitis.
Methods: Consecutive partially edentulous patients with ≥ 1 implant presenting peri-implantitis were included. Clinical and radiographic data were collected to characterize local factors.
