Objective: The supplementary motor area (SMA) demonstrates abnormal beta activity (13-30 Hz) during speech and limb movement tasks in neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease (PD). Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation (tACS) has demonstrated promising improvements in motor and non-motor functions by entraining endogenous neural oscillations. We conducted an exploratory study on the modulatory effects of personalized beta high-definition (HD)-tACS over the left SMA on speech production and limb movement.

Executive cognitive functions are essential for human life, and their age- or disease-related decline significantly impacts quality of life. Non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) targeting the multiple-demand or fronto-parietal network (FPN) has emerged as a promising intervention for enhancing various executive cognitive functions. However, variations in cognitive tasks and stimulation protocols across studies led to mixed results, rendering findings and conclusions incomparable.

Introduction: Food addiction is characterized by heightened craving and impaired inhibitory control, contributing to compulsive eating and obesity. Existing behavioral and pharmacological interventions often fail to achieve lasting effects. Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS), by modulating neural oscillations and connectivity, offers a novel, non-invasive approach for regulating craving-related neural circuits.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the effects of theta and gamma transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) on cognitive function and memory in individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Methods: The participants were assigned to one of three conditions: sham, theta (5 Hz), or gamma (40 Hz) tACS, targeting the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) for approximately 30 min. Cognitive tasks were conducted before and after stimulation, including the Digit Span and Trail Making Test A (TMT-A).

Aims: Postoperative sleep disturbance (PSD) is a common complication following surgical procedures. We aimed to evaluate the effect of prefrontal transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) in preventing PSD among patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopic surgery.
Methods: A total of 176 eligible patients, aged 18-65 years, with ASA Class I to III, and scheduled for gynecological laparoscopic surgery, were randomly allocated to receive either a single 20-min session of prefrontal tACS (2 mA, 7 Hz) or sham stimulation immediately after extubation.
