Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a severe traumatic disorder of the central nervous system, often resulting in partial or complete loss of sensory and motor functions. Ferroptosis, a lipid peroxidation-driven apoptotic process triggered by iron overload, has emerged as a novel form of programmed cell death and a focal point in post-SCI cell death research. Exosomes (Exo), as delivery vehicles, exhibit multiple advantages, including superior encapsulation capacity, high targeting efficiency, and enhanced blood-brain barrier penetration to reach the central nervous system.

A key challenge in neuroscience is understanding how neurons in hundreds of interconnected brain regions integrate sensory inputs with previous expectations to initiate movements and make decisions. It is difficult to meet this challenge if different laboratories apply different analyses to different recordings in different regions during different behaviours. Understanding the neural mechanisms behind short-term memory (STM) errors is crucial for unraveling cognitive processes and addressing deficits associated with neuropsychiatric disorders. This study examines whether STM errors arise from misrepresentation of sensory information or decay in these representations over time. Using 2-photon calcium imaging in the posterior parietal cortex (PPC) of mice performing a delayed match-to-sample task, we identified a subset of PPC neurons exhibiting both directional and temporal selectivity.
