Shortening the synthesis time of SSZ-16 (AFX type) zeolite from several days to 2 h has been achieved using an ultrafast synthesis route involving ,,','-tetraethylbicyclo[2.2.2]oct-7-ene-2,3:5,6-dipyrrolidinium (TEBOP) as an organic structure-directing agent (OSDA) in a tubular reactor assisted by seed crystals. Recently, copper exchanged SSZ-16 has been looked upon as one of the few equivalents to SSZ-13 for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia (NH-SCR) from automobile exhausts. Hydrothermal stability is one of the crucial properties for any zeolites that compete for automobile applications. All the samples prepared were analyzed using sophisticated physio-chemical techniques and those prepared from TEBOP were subjected to SCR of NOx reactions. The rapid crystal growth induced by high synthesis temperature bestowed the ultrafast prepared SSZ-16 with high crystallinity and hydrothermal stability as well as enhanced SCR of NOx activity even when aged at 800 °C. Compared to 1,1'-(1,4-butanediyl)bis-4-aza-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane dibromide (DABCO), TEBOP was found to be desirable as an OSDA for high crystallinity and hydrothermal stability.

The antibiotic contamination in aquatic environments, particularly in aquaculture systems, poses substantial risks to ecological balance and human health. To address this issue, we engineered a novel ratiometric fluorescent probe utilizing dual-emission carbon dots (D-CDs) synthesized from sustainable biomass carrot and nitrogen-rich precursors (melamine and o-phenylenediamine) through an efficient one-pot hydrothermal approach. The D-CDs exhibited dual emission peaks at 425nm and 540 nm under 370nm excitation.

Sugarcane () was employed as a sustainable carbon source to synthesize three-dimensional (3D) spherical manganese carbonate (MnCO) microspheres, offering a green route to advanced electrode material for high-energy-density symmetric supercapacitors. Although numerous synthesis strategies and material modifications have been explored, a detailed evaluation of environmentally friendly synthesis pathways remains essential. In this study, MnCO microspheres were successfully synthesized via a sugar-derived green synthesis followed by hydrothermal treatment.

Achieving high capacitance while maintaining rapid charge transport and structural stability remains a major challenge in the design of battery-type supercapacitor electrodes. Herein, a molecularly engineered strategy is presented for constructing hierarchical hybrid electrodes by integrating petal-like NiCu-LDH nanosheets onto 3D HBC-x (x = H, F, OMe)-functionalized CNT paper via a one-step hydrothermal process. The incorporation of HBC effectively mitigates CNT agglomeration and constructs an interconnected conductive framework that enhances charge transport, shortens ion diffusion paths, and reduces internal resistance.

Pd-zeolites are promising passive NO adsorber (PNA) materials for mitigating cold-start emissions from lean-burn engines. However, their practical deployment is constrained by insufficient densities and dispersion of isolated Pd active sites as well as their susceptibility to hydrothermal degradation and phosphorus poisoning encountered in vehicle exhaust environments. Herein, we develop a rationally engineered core-shell Pd/SSZ-13@AlO composite, featuring a Pd/SSZ-13 core encapsulated within a mesoporous AlO shell.

This study systematically investigates the role of nitrogen annealing in enhancing the structural and electrochemical properties of ZnNiO/NF composite anode materials synthesized via hydrothermal methods. By comparing air-annealed and nitrogen-annealed (400 and 600 °C) samples, it is demonstrated that nitrogen annealing at 400 °C induces the densely stacked nanosheet morphology with optimized lattice regularity, which can significantly improve the charge transport kinetics and the interfacial stability. Electrochemical evaluations reveal an outstanding initial discharge capacity of 1873.
