Objectives: A simple check test method was designed to confirm whether a 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH) filter for formaldehyde can be used to measure other compounds.
Methods: Sample mixtures containing the same concentrations of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acetone were spiked to the DNPH-filter, extracted, and then measured using high performance liquid chromatography with photodiode array detector (HPLC-PDA). The amounts of DNPH-derivatives versus the amounts of spiked samples were then plotted.
Results: When the amount of DNPH << the total amount of spiked samples, the amount of DNPH-derivatives was formaldehyde > acetaldehyde >> acetone. This order corresponded to the relative rate constants for the reaction. Therefore, this study confirmed that acetone was not collected at the formaldehyde sampling rate.
Conclusions: This check test easily measured the reaction rate order and can be used as a simple test to determine whether other samples can be measured by the analytical methods used for the specified sample.

Objetive: This study aims to evaluate the QT adaptation time following gradual heart rate changes estimated from exercise stress test (EST) ECGs as a marker of sudden cardiac death (SCD) risk. The predicted risk value for any cardiovascular death (CVD) is also evaluated.
Methods: Three ECG-derived markers related to QT-RR adaptation time were estimated during the exercise phase of EST, $\check{\tau }_{e}$, during the recovery phase, $\check{\tau }_{r}$, and as the difference between them, $\Delta _{\check{\tau }}$.

Soy sauce is a traditional Korean condiment made by fermenting soybeans. Its market success is influenced by intrinsic factors (sensory characteristics) and extrinsic factors (brand, packaging, price). This study examined how these factors impact consumer hedonic responses and sensory perception.

Background: The rates of ulnar collateral ligament injury and surgery continue to rise in baseball. Increased ball velocity and elbow varus torque may correlate with the increased risk of injury.
Hypothesis: Increased ball weight and/or size correlate with decreased elbow varus torque during pitching.

Background: Management of the capsulotomy at termination of hip arthroscopic procedures in the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) is debated. Clinical outcomes in favor of capsular closure were demonstrated in a retrospective study; nonetheless, this finding could not be confirmed in a recent randomized, controlled trial comparing capsular closure with unrepaired capsulotomy.
Purpose/hypothesis: This randomized, controlled multicenter trial aimed to evaluate the effect of capsular closure on subjective postoperative outcomes and revision rates in patients undergoing hip arthroscopy for FAIS.
