Article Abstract

Endoscopic Interventional Treatment of Precancerous Lesions and Early Carcinoma of the Esophagus - Criteria and Techniques of Local Ablation and Resection Early carcinomas of the esophagus can safely be resected endoscopically and interventionally under very strict conditions (ER). In contrast to ablative procedures (radiofrequency ablation, cryo-ablation, argon plasma coagulation, photodynamic therapy), which can only be recommended for Barrett's or low-grade dysplasia, ER - which is called EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection in adenocarcinoma) or more in-depth ESD (endoscopic submucosa dissection in squamous cell carcinoma) - a defined, histologically examinable preparation. This is required starting with high-grade dysplasia, since 50% of patients with biopsy-confirmed high-grade dysplasia after ER already have an invasive carcinoma in the specimen. This diagnostic gap is thus also closed with an interventional ER. ER is therefore an option for high-grade dysplasia in Barrett's, carcinoma in situ (Cis) and conditionally in T1a (adeno- and squamous cell carcinoma) and early T1b tumors (adenocarcinoma).

Purpose: Patellofemoral instability is a common knee condition and often associated with trochlear dysplasia. Sulcus-deepening trochleoplasty is a surgical option to reshape the trochlear groove and stabilise the patella. Although this procedure is considered safe and effective, the development of postoperative patellofemoral chondral lesions remains a topic of concern.

Objectives: To assess histologic changes in the peritoneal neovagina following RPGAV to better guide shared decision-making regarding vaginoplasty techniques. Robotic-Assisted Peritoneal Flap Gender-Affirming Vaginoplasty (RPGAV) uses pedicled flaps of pelvic peritoneum to form the proximal neovagina. Early reports of peritoneal vaginoplasty suggested potential for "self-lubrication"; however, long-term maintenance of fluid production remains uncertain.

Currently, there is no relevant literature specifically discussing the human papillomavirus (HPV) negative conversion rate following Hiporfin photodynamic therapy (PDT) in HPV-associated high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) of the female lower reproductive tract. Our study aims to fill this gap. Prospective study of 91 patients aged 37.

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms into pathology practice presents both opportunities and challenges. Although it can improve accuracy and inter-rater reliability, it is not infallible and can produce erroneous diagnoses, hence the need for pathologists to always check predictions. This critical judgment is particularly important when algorithm errors could lead to high-impact negative clinical outcomes, such as missing an invasive carcinoma.

: This study was designed to investigate the relationship between peripheral hematological inflammation markers, namely, neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte/lymphocyte ratio (MLR), systemic immune inflammation index (SII), and systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) and high-grade cervical lesions (CIN2+). : A retrospective cohort analysis was conducted on 358 patients who underwent cervical excision procedures. Patients were divided into two groups: View Article and Find Full Text PDF
