Purpose: Narcolepsy is a chronic neurologic disorder characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and can occur with or without cataplexy. Once-nightly sodium oxybate (ON-SXB) is approved for the treatment of cataplexy or EDS in patients 7 years of age or older with narcolepsy. ON-SXB contains both immediate-release and pH-dependent, controlled-release granules designed to be reconstituted in water and administered orally once at bedtime.

Purpose Of Review: VO₂ max is a fundamental marker of cardiorespiratory fitness with substantial prognostic and diagnostic value within the field of cardiology. This review analyzes current and emerging evidence regarding its clinical uses, highlights key evidence gaps, and explores emerging developments poised to broaden its clinical application.

Recent Findings: Evidence supports VO2 max as a powerful independent predictor for heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and cardiac amyloidosis, supporting it use in identifying high-risk patients for advanced interventions.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by eczematous skin lesions, intense pruritus, skin pain, sleep disruption, and mental health disturbances. There remains a need for a therapeutic option that delivers durable efficacy, safety, and convenient dosing across the AD patient population. This review provides an overview of AD pathogenesis driven by T-cell imbalance and describes a novel therapeutic option targeting the OX40 receptor, a costimulatory molecule expressed specifically on activated T cells.

Hypoalbuminemia is commonly seen in patients with heart failure and is associated with worse outcomes. Multiple pathophysiologic mechanisms can contribute to low albumin levels in heart failure patients, such as malnutrition, hepatic congestion, inflammation, and protein-losing enteropathy. Hypoalbuminemia can exacerbate heart failure symptoms and contributes to pulmonary edema by reducing plasma oncotic pressure, thereby favoring fluid movement into the interstitial and alveolar spaces.

Background And Aims: Chinese old garden roses are major contributors in the genetic development of modern roses. The RoKSN gene is associated with continuous flowering in roses and is proposed to have originated from Chinese wild roses. However, the wild roses that are implicated in the breeding of Chinese old garden roses and the origin of the RoKSN locus remain unidentified.
