This article proposes minimum requirements for reporting efficacy in treatment studies of compulsive sexual behavior (CSB). CSB disorder (CSBD) is a condition whose diagnostic criteria were only recently defined by the World Health Organization. Multiple primary and secondary outcomes have been used in treatment trials of CSB, and possible neuropsychological measures have been considered.

Stress cardiomyopathy/Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a transient cardiac condition characterized by sudden and reversible left ventricular dysfunction, typically triggered by emotional or physical stress. The international TTS (InterTAK) score predicts the probability of suffering from TTS. However, the diagnostic algorithm includes three mutually exclusive diagnoses: acute coronary syndrome (ACS), TTS, and acute infectious myocarditis.

Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) is a progressive condition that is associated with high rates of morbidity, frequent hospitalizations, and significant mortality. Despite advancements in guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT), many patients continue to be at risk for worsening heart failure (WHF). Vericiguat is a novel soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator that targets the impaired nitric oxide (NO)-sGC-cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) pathway.

Left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC), also called noncompaction cardiomyopathy (NCM), is a myocardial disease that affects children and adults. Morphological features of LVNC include a noncompacted spongiform myocardium due to the presence of excessive trabeculations and deep recesses between prominent trabeculae. Incidence and prevalence rates of this disease remain contentious due to varying clinical phenotypes, ranging from an asymptomatic phenotype to fulminant heart failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, and sudden death.

In the cardiovascular system, elastic fibres exert a fundamental role providing the long-range elasticity required for physiological functions. Elastic fibres are complex in composition and structure containing, in addition to elastin, a wide range of matrix components, such as microfibrillar proteins, calcium-binding proteins and glycosaminoglycans. Changes in composition and/or structure can affect the biomechanics of the tissue as well as the intrinsic affinity of elastin for Ca ions.
