Background: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has become a cornerstone in the management of aortic valve disease. However, delayed complications after hospital discharge and readmission remain in an issue following TAVR. We aimed to evaluate the impact of remote monitoring systems on clinical outcomes after TAVR.

Drought stress has profound impacts on ecosystems and societies, particularly in the context of climate change. Traditional drought indicators, which often rely on integrated water budget anomalies at various time scales, provide valuable insights but often fail to deliver clear, real-time assessments of vegetation stress. This study introduces the Cooling Efficiency Factor Index (CEFI), a novel metric purely derived from geostationary satellite observations, to detect vegetation drought stress by analyzing daytime surface warming anomalies.

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a leading cause of death worldwide and the most common precursor to heart failure, even after initial treatment. Precise evaluation of myocardial injury is crucial for assessing interventions and improving outcomes. Extensive evidence from both preclinical models and clinical studies demonstrates that the extent and severity of myocardial injury (i.

Hydrogel actuators show tremendous promise for applications in soft robots and artificial muscles. Nevertheless, developing a stretchable hydrogel actuator combining remote actuation and real-time signal feedback remains a challenge. Herein, a light-responsive hydrogel actuator with self-sensing function is fabricated by employing a localized immersion strategy to incorporate polyacrylamide (PAM) hydrogel network into semi-interpenetrating carbon nanotube/2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO)-oxidized cellulose nanofiber/poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (CNT/TOCN/PNIPAM) hydrogel.

Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) promises to turn digital cameras into medical devices with the measurement of heart rates, oxygen saturation and the diagnosis arrhythmias already demonstrated. The face-centric nature of current rPPG techniques limits open-datasets from including subjects with clinically-relevant cardiorespiratory conditions without sharing private medical information. The neck, with few identifiable characteristics, is well suited to overcoming this limitation, as it serves as a region of interest (ROI) for pulse detection during jugular venous examination, a common clinical technique.
