A diagnosis scheme using the Hurst exponent for metal particle faults in GIL/GIS is proposed to improve the accuracy of classification and identification. First, the diagnosis source signal is the vibration signal generated by the collision of metal particles in the electric field. Then, the signal is processed via variational mode decomposition (VMD) based on particle swarm optimization with adaptive parameter adjustment (APA-PSO). In the end, fault types are classified and identified by an SVM model, whose feature vector is composed of the Hurst exponents of each intrinsic mode function (IMF-H). Extensive experimental data verify the effect of this new scheme. The results exhibit that the classification performance of SVM is significantly improved by the new feature vector. Furthermore, the VMD based on APA-PSO with adaptive parameter adjustment can effectively enhance the decomposition quality.

Objective: This post hoc study of the Progesterone for Traumatic Brain Injury, Experimental Clinical Treatment (ProTECT) III trial investigates whether improving traumatic brain injury (TBI) classification, using serum biomarkers (glial fibrillary acidic protein [GFAP] and ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal esterase L1 [UCH-L1]) and algorithmically assessed total lesion volume, could identify a subset of responders to progesterone treatment, beyond broad measures like the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) and Glasgow Outcome Scale-Extended (GOS-E), which may fail to capture subtle changes in TBI recovery.
Design: Brain lesion volumes on CT scans were quantified using Brain Lesion Analysis and Segmentation Tool for CT. Patients were classified into true-positive and true-negative groups based on an optimization scheme to determine a threshold that maximizes agreement between radiological assessment and objectively measured lesion volume.

is a pathogen of global health importance due to its role in causing Legionnaires' disease (LD), a severe form of community-acquired pneumonia. Throughout the USA and Europe, is often identified as the primary cause of LD, but in countries such as New Zealand and Australia, where testing for non- species is employed systematically, high rates of are reported. Development of genomic tools to track outbreaks and identify infection sources for has lagged behind that of .

Background: Diagnosis-related group (DRG) systems for healthcare reimbursement were recently introduced among hospitals in China, raising concerns about cost-shifting, where hospitals may increase charges for self-financing patients to offset reimbursement cuts by DRG. In 2018, both Nanchang and Ganzhou Cities in Jiangxi Province installed DRG information systems, but only Nanchang fully implemented the DRG system during the 2019-2020 pilot period.
Materials And Methods: Drawing from a healthcare administrative dataset of 14,310 patients' records, this study investigates the hospitalization costs associated with Intraocular Lens (IOL) implantation procedures in Jiangxi Province, China, from 2017 to 2020.

Background: The optimal radiation dose for the treatment of small cell carcinoma of the esophagus (SCEC) has not been established. This study aimed to investigate the treatment outcomes and toxicities in patients with limited-stage SCEC (LS-SCEC) treated by radiotherapy.
Methods: Patients with LS-SCEC from 14 institutions were retrospectively identified between December 2000 and October 2021.

Evaluation of bone marrow blast percentage is paramount to response criteria in acute leukemias. There is an identified need within the framework of updated laboratory practices to reduce inconsistencies in methodologies used by clinical laboratories to report blast values and clarify aspects of reporting. Representatives from international specialised working groups including the European Hematology Association (EHA) Diagnosis in Hematological Diseases Specialised Working Group and the European LeukemiaNet (ELN) produced consensus guidance for harmonised blast assessment to define response categories in acute leukemic patients.
