Article Abstract

Three aphid species, (L.), (Koch) and (L.) induce distinct gall morphotypes on Huds.; opened and closed galls. Because the trophic relationship of aphids and their galls shows that throughout the gall formation aphids can elicit multiple physiological regulations, we evaluated the changes of hydrogen peroxide content (HO), cytoplasmic membrane condition, expressed as electrolyte leakage (E) and concentration of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), as well as, the activity of catalase (CAT), guaiacol peroxidase (GPX) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) in gall tissues, as well as, in damaged and undamaged parts of galled leaves. All aphid species increased E from gall tissues and significantly upregulated APX activity in galls and galled leaves. Alterations in HO and TBARS concentrations, as well as GPX and CAT activities, were aphid- and tissue-dependent. The development of pseudo- and closed galls on elm leaves did not have a clear effect on the direction and intensity of the host plant's physiological response. The different modes of changes in HO, TBARS, CAT and GPX were found in true galls of and . Generally, physiological alterations in new plant tissues were quite different compared to other tissues and could be considered beneficial to galling aphids.

In this study, nanofibrous scaffolds composed of Polycaprolactone/Collagen (PCL/COL) infused with FeO/Lanthanum/SiO nanocomposite were developed. FeO and La-doped FeO nanoparticles were synthesized using a straightforward co-precipitation method. Silica extracted from Ulmus leaves via green synthesis was used to coat the FeO-La nanocomposite.

In this research, advanced regression techniques are investigated for modeling intricate release patterns utilizing a high-dimensional dataset comprising more than 1500 spectrum-based variables and categorical inputs. The spectral data are collected from Raman spectroscopy for analysis of drug release from a solid dosage formulation coated with Polysaccharides (a high-dimensional dataset of 155 samples, with drug release measured at 2, 8, and 24 h). The considered drug is 5-aminosalicylic acid for colonic drug delivery, and its release was estimated using Raman data as inputs along with other categorical parameters.

Background: The situation of microplastic pollution in terrestrial ecosystems is becoming increasingly severe. This study developed a polyethylene (PE) microplastic-contaminated soil-Ulmus pumila-Hyphantria cunea larvae food chain model to investigate the ecotoxicological impacts of soil microplastic pollution from the perspective of pest occurrence and pest control.

Results: After feeding on PE-treated U.

Urban populations in arid regions face increasing risks from long-term exposure to heavy metal pollutants. This study investigates the spatial distribution and interrelationships of seven heavy metals (Mn, Ni, Zn, Cd, Pb, Cu, Cr) across soil, elm tree tissues, and total suspended particulates (TSP) in four functional areas-industrial (IA), traffic (TA), park (PA), and residential (RA)-in Urumqi, a typical oasis city in northwestern China. Total heavy metal concentrations in soil were highest in IA (303 mg/kg) and lowest in RA (219 mg/kg).

Department of Nursing Management and Education, College of Nursing, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, P.O. Box 84428, Riyadh, 11671, Saudi Arabia.

Background: Surgical site infections, resulting from surgical procedures, can significantly impact healthcare systems and individual patients, necessitating the implementation of a surgical care bundle to reduce their incidence.

Aim: To investigate the effect of surgical care bundle on post-cesarean wound infection.

Design: The research design was quasi-experimental.
