A 72-year-old Japanese woman presented to our hospital with decreased vision. At the initial visit, her best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and intraocular pressure (IOP) in her right eye (OD) were 0.02 and 36 mm Hg, respectively. By slit lamp examination, rubeosis iridis was observed on the iris surface. With higher magnification observation, movement of clustered RBCs were clearly observed; the blood drained into episcleral vessels that were connected with the main trunk of rubeosis iridis. She was diagnosed with the neovascular glaucoma secondary to central retinal vein occlusion OD. She underwent panretinal photocoagulation, intravitreal injection of aflibercept, and Ahmed Glaucoma Valve implantation. At 2 weeks postoperatively, the BCVA and IOP OD were 0.2 and 7 mm Hg, respectively; rubeosis iridis was partially regressed and movement of RBCs was not observed. Acquisition of directional flow by the connection of the main trunk of neovessels with the episcleral vessels and reduction of flow speed by the high IOP could explain the reason for visible blood flow in our case.

Diabetes mellitus affects around 240 million people globally and it is projected to rise about 370 million by 2030. Therefore, it is of interest to evaluate the orbital and anterior segment orbital manifestation among 91 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients for ocular and general examination. The distribution of symptoms was cataract (71%), blepharitis (24%), dry eye (24%), mucormycosis (12%), cranial nerve palsies at 11%, recurrent changes in refraction (10%), primary open-angle glaucoma (5%), recurrent stye (4%), corneal ulcer (3%), iridocyclitis (3%), orbital cellulitis (2%), rubeosis iridis (1%), and neovascular glaucoma (1%) respectively.

Rubeosis Iridis (RI) is characterized by an increase in neovascularization and inflammation factors in the iris. During angiogenesis, the urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) and its receptor (uPAR) play a pivotal role in extracellular matrix remodeling, where uPAR regulates endothelial cell migration and proliferation through assembly with transmembrane receptors. Here, in the context of hypoxia-induced angiogenesis, the uPA/uPAR system blockage was investigated by using UPARANT in a novel ex vivo human iris organotypic angiogenesis assay.

Introduction: We report a rare case of an aggressive large-cell neuroendocrine lung tumour, which presented with ocular metastasis.
Case Presentation: A 70-year-old lady presented with a 4-week history of left eye pain and photophobia. Ocular examination revealed left-sided episcleritis and she was treated with topical lubricants and steroids.
