Periodontal disease (PD) is a common and complex oral health problem that affects teeth and gums, leading to tooth loss, misalignment, and infection, with significant impact. Identifying the cause and developing new treatments is crucial. This study employed Mendelian randomization (MR), single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), and integrated transcriptomics to identify key gene signatures associated with periodontitis.

Empathic accuracy (EA) is the ability to accurately understand another person's thoughts and feelings, which is crucial for social and psychological interactions. Traditionally, EA is assessed by comparing a perceiver's moment-to-moment ratings of a target's emotional state with the target's own self-reported ratings at corresponding time points. However, misalignments between these two sequences are common due to the complexity of emotional interpretation and individual differences in behavioral responses.

Alveolar capillary dysplasia with misalignment of pulmonary veins (ACDMPV) is a rare, often fatal congenital disorder characterized by severe neonatal respiratory distress and associated with complex multisystem malformations. In approximately 90% of cases, the condition is linked to deletions or mutations affecting the gene or its upstream enhancer region on chromosome 16q24.1.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) ubiquitously infects humans, establishing lifelong persistence in B cells. , EBV-infected B cells can establish a lymphoblastoid cell line (LCL). EBV's transcripts in LCLs (latency III) produce six nuclear proteins [EBV nuclear antigens (EBNAs)], two latency membrane proteins (LMPs) and various microRNAs and putative long non-coding RNAs [BamHI A rightward transcripts (BARTs)].

Strabismus is a common pediatric eye misalignment and has complex genetic and environmental causes. Previous genome-wide association studies (GWAS) encountered difficulties in identifying strabismus risk variants due to heterogeneity and small samples. We performed large meta-analyses of 11 European-ancestry GWAS (7 sources), analysing broad strabismus (20,464 cases, 954,921 controls) and subtypes (esotropia/exotropia).
