The whole-genome sequences of Mycobacterium chimaera strains 850 and 852, which were isolated from two different water samples obtained from a heater-cooler unit at Siena University Hospital (Italy), were determined by combining Nanopore and Illumina technologies. Genomes of both strains 850 and 852 consist of a circular chromosome and five plasmids, with sizes of 6,275,686 bp and 6,453,144 bp, respectively.

In recent years, there has been a rise in fractures caused by osteoporosis. Such fractures significantly contribute to bone morbidity and place an increasing strain on global healthcare systems. Among them, osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) have shown a steady upward trend.

This study designed a high-power GaAs-based gain chip based on an asymmetric waveguide and compressively strained quantum wells for the 850 nm wavelength band. By applying the epitaxial structure and low-loss waveguide, a record continuous-wave output power of 114.

The mechanical behavior and microstructural evolution of a BCC-phase NbTaTiV refractory multi-principal element alloy (RMPEA) is studied over a wide range of strain rates (10 to 10 s) and temperatures (room temperature to 850 °C). The mechanical property of present RMPEA shows less strain-rate dependence and strong resistance to softening at high temperatures. Under high strain-rate loading, the formation of thin type-I twins is observed, which could lead to an increase in strain-hardening rates.

Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are beneficial soil microorganisms that enhance plant growth and stress tolerance through various mechanisms, including phytohormone production, EPS production, phosphate solubilization, and extracellular enzyme production. These bacteria establish endosymbiotic relationships with plants, improving nutrient availability and overall crop productivity. Despite extensive research on PGPR isolation, their practical application in agricultural fields has faced challenges due to environmental stresses and limited survival during storage.

This study explored the effects of the finishing deformation temperature on the microstructure and properties of CrVNb micro-alloyed steel following thermomechanical processing (TMP). The investigation encompassed the influence of the deformation temperature on the ferrite grain size, precipitate characteristics, hardness and flow stress. The microstructure characterization was performed using optical and electron microscopy techniques.
