Unlabelled: The purpose of the Problem Adaptation Therapy - Montefiore Health System (PATH-MHS) pilot program was to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of PATH across a culturally, educationally, and functionally diverse cohort of older adults.
Methods: Clinicians referred 145 participants with depression and cognitive impairment to PATH-MHS. We completed analyses of the change in depression, disability and the association between baseline characteristics and remission of depression.
Results: Most participants were Hispanic or Non-Hispanic Black and 54.7% (76) were primary Spanish speakers. Overall, there were significant decreases in the mean PHQ-9 and WHODAS 2.0 scores. In logistic regression models, neither age, education, gender, race/ethnicity, language nor long-term care status was significantly associated with remission of depression.
Conclusions: This study demonstrates that we were able to engage a diverse, cognitively impaired, and frail cohort of older adults in PATH-MHS with significant reductions in depression and disability.

Background And Objectives: Myelitis is a relatively common clinical entity for neurologists, with diverse underlying causes. The aim of this study was to describe the incidence of myelitis, its causes, clinical presentation, and factors predicting functional outcomes and relapses.
Methods: Using the Swedish National Patient Registry, we identified all adult patients in Stockholm County between 2008 and 2018 using International Classification of Diseases, 10th Edition (ICD-10) codes likely to include myelitis.

Purpose: Systemically administered anti-cancer VEGF inhibiting therapies can cause severe kidney injury. Intravitreal aflibercept has a greater impact on renal VEGF levels than ranibizumab. We compared the risk of kidney injury among patients receiving intravitreal aflibercept vs.

Background: The Hospital Frailty Risk Score (HFRS) has been widely used to identify patients at high risk of poor outcomes and to predict poor outcomes for older people. Although poor health outcomes are associated more with frailty than age, HFRS has been validated only for older people. This study aimed to explore for the first time whether age influences the predictive power of Hospital Frailty Risk Score to predict a long length of stay.

Insight in the trajectory of an individual's functional ability and intrinsic reserve capacity in a relatively younger population of older adults is lacking. This study aims to investigate the early stages of frailty by tracking trajectories of physical indicators of intrinsic capacity before frailty becomes clinically evident.

BackgroundWomen have a higher risk of dementia than men. Reproductive factors may be implicated.ObjectiveDetermine the association between reproductive factors (earlier menarche, later menopause, longer reproductive lifespan (RLS), post-menopausal hormone replacement therapy [pmHRT] use, and serum estradiol/estrone) and neurocognitive and neuroimaging markers of brain aging and incident dementia in cognitively healthy women.
