Article Abstract

A green method of the oxidation of benzylamines to imines was developed using a novel binary system of Au/C-CuO. This system was evaluated under atmospheric oxygen, and the corresponding imines were obtained in up to 100% yields by loading 0.006 mol % of Au/C and 1.25 mol % of CuO under mild conditions. This system was also successfully applied to the syntheses of -containing functional molecules, as well as that of imines on the scale of several grams. Furthermore, the turnover number of the system (more than 8000 times on a gold basis) as well as its ability to be reused more than 10 times for benzylamine oxidation demonstrates the excellent durability and recyclability of the developed system.

Traditional drug discovery methods like high-throughput screening and molecular docking are slow and costly. This study introduces a machine learning framework to predict bioactivity (pIC₅₀) and identify key molecular properties and structural features for targeting Trypanothione reductase (TR), Protein kinase C theta (PKC-θ), and Cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) using data from the ChEMBL database. Molecular fingerprints, generated via PaDEL-Descriptor and RDKit, encoded structural features as binary vectors.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes and cost-effectiveness of two widely used intramedullary fixation systems-the Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation (PFNA) and the Proximal Femoral Nail with Talon Locking System (PFN-TLS)-in the treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures (ITFF).

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 118 patients aged 65-90 years who underwent surgical treatment for ITFF using either PFNA (n = 53) or PFN-TLS (n = 65). All patients were followed for a minimum of 24 months.

A mean-field approximation-based linearization framework for network reconstruction from binary time series.

A captivating challenge in network research is the reconstruction of complex network structures from limited binary-state time series data. Although some reconstruction approaches based on dynamical rules or sparse system of linear equations have been proposed, these approaches either rely on known dynamical rules, limiting their generality, or the system of linear equations is often empirically determined, with weak interpretability and the performance being sensitive to parameter settings. To address these limitations, we propose a network reconstruction method based on linearization grounded in mean-field approximation.

Objective: We evaluated the empirical fit of our model of clinical momentum for older adults with life-limiting illness undergoing unplanned surgery.

Background: Older adults often undergo surgery near the end of life, in contrast to generally stated preferences. Systems forces promoting intervention may produce nonbeneficial treatment despite advances in communication.
