Background/aim: Endotracheal tube intubation is required for surgery under inhalation anesthesia. In the present study, after inhalation anesthesia in dogs, the tracheal tube was extubated without deflating the endotracheal tube cuff, resulting in thoracic tracheal rupture, subcutaneous emphysema, and pneumomediastinum. The ruptured thoracic trachea was reconstructed using an endotracheal stent to treat intrathoracic emphysema.

Background: Bronchopleural fistula, refractory pneumothorax, and massive hemoptysis pose significant clinical challenges. Endobronchial spigot offers a less invasive alternative to surgical interventions for the management of these conditions. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of endobronchial spigot in patients with bronchopleural fistula, refractory pneumothorax, and hemoptysis in whom interventional radiology or surgical intervention was not feasible.

Central venous catheterization (CVC) is an integral part of patient care in the intensive care unit. The Seldinger technique, known for its minimal invasiveness, has become the standard for CVC insertion. Despite the technique's effectiveness and safety, guide wires-integral to the procedure-carry risks, including a rare but serious complication: intrathoracic migration of a retained guide wire.

Introduction: Gastric volvulus (GV) is an uncommon surgical emergency characterized by abnormal rotation of the stomach, often leading to obstruction and ischemia. It is commonly associated with hiatal hernias (HHs), which represents about 75 % of secondary GV cases. Early diagnosis and prompt surgical intervention are critical to prevent life-threatening complications.

Gastric volvulus is a rare but potentially life-threatening condition that can arise as a complication of a giant hiatal hernia. It results from an abnormal rotation of the stomach, which can lead to obstruction, ischemia, or even gastric necrosis. Prompt recognition and surgical intervention are essential to prevent serious outcomes.
