Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are aerobic products generated during cellular respiration, but in the case of oxidative stress, they become key factors in the development of inflammatory processes and chronic diseases such as diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. In this work, oil (EOO), as well as the complexes produced by slurry (S) and kneading (K), were analyzed for antioxidant capacity in vitro, while only the β-cyclodextrin complex obtained by kneading (EOO-βCD-K), which showed better complexation, was selected for anti-inflammatory assays in vivo. In the scavenging activity of OH·, the hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin complex obtained by kneading (EOO-HPβCD-K) exhibited an activity 437% higher than the pure oil. In the paw edema assay, EOO-βCD-K reduced edema by 200% and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity by 112%. In an air pouch model, this treatment showed a reduction in leukocyte, MPO, and Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) levels; meanwhile those of glutathione and IL-10 were increased, demonstrating its ability to potentiate the anti-inflammatory effect of EOO.

Clove essential oil ( essential oil, ECEO) is known for its high eugenol content and notable antimicrobial properties. However, the volatility and instability of its active compounds hinder broader pharmaceutical applications. This study characterised the chemical composition of ECEO and comparatively evaluated four -cyclodextrin (-CD) encapsulation methods: kneading, co-precipitation, lyophilisation, and co-precipitation-lyophilisation for eugenol, eucalyptol, and ECEO.

This paper introduces Professor 's clinical experience in the treatment of refractory facial paralysis with acupuncture and moxibustion. Professor believes that the etiology of refractory facial paralysis is complex. Acupuncture and moxibustion treatment should be based on cortical localization, Baihui (GV20), lower 1/5 of motor area and brainstem area are selected, and repetitive transcranial acupuncture is applied.

Innovative functional materials integrating host-guest complexes in cryogels offer promising applications in topical drug delivery, enhancing drug solubility and stability. In this study, we designed and developed a cryogel-based patch for acne treatment by polymerizing an acrylate-functionalized γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) and trimethoprim (TMP) inclusion complex with [2-(acryloyloxy)ethyl]trimethylammonium chloride (AETMA) at low temperatures. A multistep workflow was applied to synthesize the inclusion complex via mortar-assisted kneading, followed by cryogel formulation through radical cryopolymerization.

Introduction: This study aimed to formulate and evaluate dimenhydrinate (DMH) as fastdisintegrating tablets (FDTs) complexed with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) to enhance its solubility, dissolution profile, and pharmacological performance.
Methods: A DMH:β-CD inclusion complex was prepared at a 1:1 molar ratio using the kneading method. Characterization was performed through phase solubility studies, FTIR analysis, molecular docking, and in vitro dissolution testing.
